The mysterious e1071
Hi, I'm trying to use the svm function in R, but I can't find the e1071 package. When I type library(e1071), I get the error message that the package doesn't exist. I've searched all over the CRAN website, but I can't find anything. Did it change names? Thanks for your help, Chelsea

SIGUSR1 or SIGINT error
Howdy, We occassionally get the following error when running our nightly backups: rsync error: received SIGUSR1 or SIGINT (code 20) at rsync.c(229) This happens more on one or two machines than on any of the others. We've looked high and low to see if we're mistakenly sending these signals, but nothing is that we can find. Does anyone know what this might be from? Is it the server

Etimating time to run an analysis?
Hi everyone, I'm new to this list and have searched R help prior for an answer to this question, without luck. If I'm posting in error, please forgive. I'm thinking about using package MuMIn to do multimodel inference with logistic regression. I have many (25) possible predictors and am curious if there is a way to estimate how long the dredge command might take to run? Any

[PATCH] New apodization functions
Hi, > If I understand this correctly, these new apodization functions only > affect compression and that files compressed with these new functions > will still decode correctly with older versions of the FLAC decoder. > > Is that right? Yes, that is correct. These functions are used to window the audiodata, but only for the predictor stage. What these new function enable,

Making the lines thicker in histogram
I'm using a histogram and want to overlay this onto a barplot. I need the histogram lines to be thicker in order for it to stand out more on top of the barplot. Is there a command in order to do this? Hey, I''m probably just missing something really obvious but I''ve been stuck on this problem for a while now and I''m not getting anywhere. I have installed the acts_as_ferret gem, as well as ferret according to the tutorial on RailsEnvy. My model, controller, and environment.rb files have all been modified as per that turotial. However any attempts to use the

[PATCH] New apodization functions
Hi all, This patch adds two new apodization functions that I developed. From my own test results (on quite a diverse dataset) they outperform the current best apodizations by 0.05% - 0.1% (depending on the specifics) on compression. Here's a selection of the test results *Apodization functions* ,Compres, Speed partial_tukey(2) tukey(0.5) , 56.50 , 37.2x partial_tukey(3)

Ideas Regarding Sports Ladder?
Hey all I''m going to be creating a sports ladder shortly and I was wondering if anyone has any good tips/ideas/comments regarding the subject. The only additional spec I can think of is that I have to be able to create (and have running) multiple tournaments. Thanks all, -Andy -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

confidence interval of a average...
I have a sample of lung capacities from a population measured against height. I need to know the 95% CI of the lung capacity of a person of average height. I have fitted a regression line. How do I get a minimum and maximum values of the 95% CI? My thinking was that this has something to do with covariance, but how? My other thinking was that I could derive the 0.975 (sqrt 0.95) CI for the

What's the weight means in the dump of edge info from USR2?
Thank you, that is very helpful. And actually I do have a few further questions regarding this: 1. This weight is not the one specified in Subnet, this should be something related to the host, where can I manually configure this? 2. The weight value is ONLY take round trip latency as the measurement, or including CPU power and other factors into consideration? 3. I don't know how this

Dear r-help I am trying to fit a logistic regression with a dataset that has some missing values in the categorical response (sjukdom). These are generated 'false' values that I want predicited values for. Looking at the help, I think the correct commands to deal with these missing values are as follows: options(na.action=napredict)
