G80
Hi there,
I'd like to help on finding out more details about the G8x hardware
from NVidia, especially given these cards have more functionality than
your average GPU: with CUDA (
http://developer.nvidia.com/object/cuda.html ) it is possible to use
them as compute devices.
This makes me very interested in their low level capabilities, like
microcode/shader specifications, and maybe even how

libtheoraplayer - a simple to use Theora playback library
Hi everyone,
I'd like to present an open-source project I made for use in my
company's projects: Theora Playback Library
website: http://libtheoraplayer.sourceforge.net
It's a multi-threaded library that decodes theora videos, decoding
frames in advance (precaching), decodes any syncs audio and provides a
very fast YUV->RGB conversion.
One of the most important features is that

TC Newbie Questions
Having never worked with Linux TC before, I have a few questions about setting
it up and am not certain I understand the Howto well enough to do what I
specifically want.
I have a linux firewall talking to my cable modem, as well as the rest of my
network. I have 4 things I''m trying to accomplish, in order of priority:
1) I use a VoIP phone, and want to give it as much bandwidth as

cant browse user home directories
I had to reainstall my server and couldnt avoid upgrading samba. Before
reinstalling, I had samba configured to let users browse their home
folders from Windows PCs using their Unix system user/pass. Now, it is
not possible, I have just managed to implement the same authentication
system as before and give access to a public folder. The home folders
remains invisible, if I set browseable = yes,

Naturally that would work perfectly fine on a similar

Anyone please make Wine permissive?
Sir,
I am rishikeshan. I am a 14 years old student. I am interested in permissive open community. I hate copyleft.
Don't fear of commercialization. It is needed to the earth. Actually, GPL is blocking the development. I will definitely help you if you make it permissive. Maybe you can make YOUR code permissive. How permissive nature help you?
How can I get old BSD release?

[LLVMdev] Proposal for GSoC project for clang front end
Hi all,
I'd like to hear your opinions and ideas for a proposal to improve
support for C++ parsing for LLVM's clang front end.
Goal:
Improve clang's C++ support. The scope of the project will be limited to
C++ parsing, not code generation (I think the
timeframe of a GSoC project and the complexity of C++ doesn't allow full
C++ support to be developed).

smbmount ... error
I've spent the last 3 hours (it seems like) going over postings in the
comp.protocols.smb newsgroup trying to find a solution for this problem.
It seems that a lot of folks have had the issue, but none of the posts
I looked at had any useful resolution. Here's the error:
28968: protocol negotiation failed
SMB connection failed

NT4 performance in Netware primary login.
Samba Gurus.
We run W95 and NT4 clients in a mixed environment
of Netware and Samba on SGs. Netware is the primary
network login(over IPX/SPX). Am using clear text passwords for the
Samba network. NT 4 is patched up to SR 3.
Samba version 1.9.18p7.
Problem.
Samba performance from NT 4 machines is VERY slow.
Many orders of magnitude slower than W95 which is
very good.
This performance
