Domain-name appended into username when "selecting users or groups"
Dear all,
I am facing a peculiar situation:
on my smb.conf log level = 5, and on my windows machine I log on as a
local administrator to add remote desktop users that are in fact domain
users.
When my worgroup = SOMETHING, everything works fine. When I change my
worgroup to: workgroup = example.com, and try to add a new remote
desktop user, and set as an object name example.com\user and try

Share Problem
Hi,
Like explained in my precedent mail (Permission Problems), I want to do
a share (called partinfo) with basic behaviour :
* everybody in group 'info' can create file into the share.
* everybody in group 'info' can modify file into the share (not only
owned files)
* only owner of a file can delete it/rename it !
I put a Sticky Bit on my share folder so I've got :

spamassassin, postfix with dovecot lda?
Hi all,
I am trying to setup a mail server using postfix (virtual_mailboxes),
spamassassin and dovecot, along with SQL where appropriate. From my
research so far I realized that, for several reasons, it is required for
me to use dovecot LDA instead of maildrop, local, procmail or other
alternatives.
My configuration was working flawlessly, until spamassassin per-user
configuration came to

My problems with Samba continue... I'm very disappointed, i've never

So the new problem is : When a student want to compile a C program into
his home (mounted in CIFS), the produced executable can't be executed

UDP connection attempts
Hi everyone,
I administer this 5.2.1 Freebsd Box which runs a few services, among of
which are bind and postfix. On the same box I run ipfw as a firewall, and
have a default policy block for all incoming packets, except for those
that are for ports 53 (tcp and udp) and 25 (tcp).
I also have the following sysctl values enabled:
net.inet.tcp.blackhole=2
net.inet.udp.blackhole=1

I'm always working on my Samba server, and put the log level to 10 like
Volker said in a previous message. But, when i read any log files i see
a troubling message :
"got a SHUTDOWN message"
Every minutes !!! Is this behavior normal ?? Following, the paste of 2
sequences (so 2 minutes of a log file) :

nfs root filesystem problem
Hi ,
I am doing some tests with klibc 1.1.16. I would like to have my
root file system on an nfs export , but the /etc folder it to be mounted
from a different nfs export.
I am using 2.6.15.1 with initrd ramdisk initramfs nfsroot etc
compiled in. My pxelinux.cfg looks like this:
default opteron
label opteron
kernel gentoo/vmlinuz-opteron
append initrd=gentoo/initramfs.img ip=dhcp

one domU out of 4 looses time sync
Hi all,
I am running Scientific Linux 5.1 (rhel 5.1 compatible) 64bit on a
2x4core system with 16 gb ram with 3 Scientific Linux 4.6 (rhel 4.6
compatible) guests an one Scientific Linux 5.1 guest.
I do not run ntp on the guests but only on dom0.
One specific Scientific Linux 4 domU always looses time synchronization
with dom0. All the others SL4 and the SL5 domUs remain synchronized.

recover data from linear raid
Hello,
I had a scientific linux 3.0.4 system (rhel compatible), with 3
ide disks, one for / and two others in linear raid (250 gb and 300 gb
each).
This system was obsoleted so i move the raid disks to a new
scientific linux 3.0.7 installation. However, the raid array was not
detected ( I put the disks on the same channels and same master/lsave
setup as in the previous setup). In fact

[LLVMdev] Re: LLVM to SUIF-MACH VM binary (Chris Lattner, John Cortes)
Dear friends,
I have been using the SUIF Machine infrastructure for sometime. Some
optimizations are available without using a target machine, i.e. at the
SUIFvm level. At this level you have "infinite" registers. Other
optimizations, including analyses as for profiling require the use of a
target library, a complete backend. It is very sad, that they have
discontinued their MIPS

diskstart.inc: PartInfo sub-constants seen as local labels
I'm working on a debugging/diagnostic image in order to debug/diagnose
an issue with very recent machines using a UFD (USB Flash Drive) which
really _should_ be partitioned but someone decides to be a little too
quick and uses it raw. (FAT* file system on /dev/sdb rather than
/dev/sdb1).
Anyways, I've got a successful first iteration that'll say what the
BIOS thinks about geometry and

FW: kerberos nfs4's principals and root access
If not done, add the server to the AD.
Add the host and nfs to the COMPUTERNAME($) account.
And use winbind to refresh the keytab.
Stop samba,
remove the keytab, create the new with the new SPN's in it,
start samba.
And Use the second keytab for apache with only http as upn in it.

[GSoC 2018] Improving debugging of optimized code
Hello,
I'm an undergraduate student in the CS department
of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).
Last year I successfully completed GSoC with Mixxx [1] and this year I
would like to work on LLVM.
I am interested in "Improving debugging of optimized code" [2].
I have gone through the kaleidoscope tutorial and I've set up a basic
dev environment for LLVM and clang.

Problem with roaming profiles (always synced but never read)
Hi,
I come to find new ideas about a problem which is blocking me since many
days....
I've an AD DC on Samba 4.1.11, and a file server (on Samba 4.1.11 too)
member of the domain. They works fine (apparently).
I've a Win7 Enterprise x64 client, joined to the domain.
I've created a new user 'foo' to test openning session.
When I log for the first time, my user get a local

FW: kerberos nfs4's principals and root access
It's ok
So, if I create a httpuser and an httpgroup in my AD and use these at
owner and group for my apache2 daemon, this one could access to userdirs
(while permissions granting it) ? But I need to cron 'kinit' to keep
valid ticket... ?
My local root user always can't access to the share, but my other
problem seems to be resolved.
Thanks
