Strange problem with WINS address resolution
Hi, I've got a strange problem with address resolution in a mixed Network with Samba on Linux as Server and Win2k / XP clients. At first my setup: - SuSE Linux 8.1 - Samba Version 2.2.5-SuSE on SuSE 8.1 (smd.conf attached) - nmbd is configured to act as a WINS server. - DHCP is installed (dhcpd.conf attached) - No DNS is installed Everything worked fine until a temporary Server-Down-Time,

Good OOP and JS books / tutorials? Looking to teach my team
Can anyone recommend good books, online tutorials, or any other learning materials for Javascript - specifically Object Oriented Programming using JS? I want the rest of my dev team to be able to help me code in JS, specifically using prototype and scriptaculous. I''ve been using JS for so long, and I kinda "grew up" on OOP programming but my whole team is Coldfusion

Samba & Vista
Hello, Does anybody know if Samba is compadable with Vista Yet? If so, is there a way for a group pr user policy to allow samba users to things in windows vista, like install programs w/o admin access. I know Vista has policies that can do this, where it cna basicly grant the user access, witha prompt or w/o a prompt. Can Samba support this too?

droponempty doesn''t activate hoverclass?
How come in the latest version of script.aculo.us the dropOnEmpty feature turns off the hoverclass? I just updated my version because I was running into some weird display positioning issues (my app is a calendar with my draggable items being table elements) and now I have no feedback when I am hovering over a sortable. I can hack the dragdrop.js to make it work again, but is there any

sampling vectors
Hello Listers, I am trying to sample a vector to create a new one of sample length, witha sum equal to the sum of the initial vector: initial = 10, 30, 10 (sum=50) sample example = 5, 35, 10 (sum=50) or 25, 15, 10 (sum=50), etc ... My problem is to control the sum, so it stays constant. Any suggestions would be very helpful ! Thank you in advance, Eric

Design functions after Multiple Imputation
I am a new user of R for Windows, enthusiast about the many functions of the Design and Hmisc libraries. I combined the results of a Cox regression model after multiple imputation (of missing values in some covariates). Now I got my vector of coefficients (and of standard errors). My question is: How could I use directly that vector to run programs such as 'nomogram', 'calibrate',

[LLVMdev] llvm-mc build failure
Dear llvm, Recently (approximately a week ago) Clang and LLVM started to failed at building. Assuming it was my incompetence, I cleared everything and started witha fresh checkout (not that I changed it though). I am on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64-Bit. And I configure and compile with CMake. The error message I get at approximatley 66% is as follows: Linking CXX executable ../../bin/llvm-mc

[LLVMdev] Compiler Driver Decisions
Hi LLVM'ers If I may chime in to your discussion about naming the compiler-driver. As a newcomer (and novice) about LLVM, but as user, I think users best understand llvmcd (or llvm-driver) in conjunction with the runtime environment llvmee (or llvm-run). If I had to choose, and personnally I don't like those cryptic acronyms or other short hand forms, I'll pick up the names

Half-Life, wine & GeForce2 GO
Hi everybody, I tried today to install and play Half Life under wine on a toshiba satellite 3000-400 with an nvidia geforce2 go graphic card and an integrated sound card (i810). I downloaded both wine and winex from the CVS repositories, and compiled them with opengl support without any problem. I tried to install half life. winex hung when testing the wave sound output, and wine worked
