Letter instead of A4 with driver installed via Samba's Point'n'Print
Hello everyone, I have already asked for this the cups list/newsgroup, but it seems to me that this might be more a question about Samba. According (hopefully) to these howtos I have setup printers and prepared their cups postscript drivers to be installed automatically via Samba and the so called Point'n'Print method: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-456501-highlight-.html

Point'n'Print: adddriver / WERR_ACCESS_DENIED
Dear list, This problem has been bugging me for days now, I've got Cups version 1.1.21 and Samba 3.0.7 installed and working. There is a single Laserjet 4100 attached to the network, printing via Cups or Cups/Samba works fine. The problems are with getting Point'n'Print to work. I've been scouring the net, archived posts of this list, read the official Samba manual, to no

Printers not working with Point'N'Print
I have been wrestling with this for quite some time. I have Samba 3.0.9-1.3E.3 installed on a RH ES 3 server running the 2.4.21-32.ELsmp kernel. I have a Xerox Workcentre 32C, Workcentre 65, HP Laser Jet 5si, HP LJ 8000, LJ 4250dtn. All of the printers work fine from the local machine. In other words, I can print to any of the printers from the RH server. However, when using Samba to share

Samba 2.2.8a & Cups 1.1.17 - point'n'print fails
Hello, I just can't get point'n'print working correctly. Every time I double click printer, Windows (2k, NT) fails to install the drivers from print$ -share. I'm trying to use a generic postscript driver provided with Cups (modified MS Postscript driver). Linux distribution in use is Redhat. I have first set Cups working and printed test page with it - no problems. Then I

Samba 3 and Windows 8 Point'n'Print drivers
Hi list, To my best knowledge samba 3 does not support level 4 drivers used by Windows 8 for Point'n'Print (If that is not the case could you let me know the minimal version of samba required?) According to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/hh852373.aspx Windows 8 should be able to use level 3 drivers, but it does not seem to work for me. Are they any

FW: Samba 4 Point'n'Print driver installation
Thanks for your suggestions. Fortunately, the problem was probably because of a wrong configuration of kerberos. I since upgraded to 4.1.7 and it works ok. non-windows behavior of samba
We have a vendor who is going to install an application server, and it requires samba to behave as much like windows as possible. There is a particular case they are complaining about. 1. Run samba on redhat server 2. Map a drive from windows. Let's say the Z: drive 3. Run a script to open and continuously modify a file on the samba share 4. Observe the samba share in Windows

This morning in a site all printers but 1 'desappeared': really the don't desappear, simply the association between printers and driver get lost someway, so printer come back to standard CUPS printer name, so clients say that
