password server DOMDC1 rejected the password: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
Hello list,
I have trouble with a smb configuration that worked fine before I upgraded my samba to the latest stable release.
I used samba 3.0.23c (Slackware11) and now I'm using samba 3.0.25b (Slackware12).
The error/failure looks like this:
I'm trying to connect to my HOME service and I fail. The log produces only this:

Once again:
Samba always comes with its own users database.
You have Samba so you have Samba users in addition of systems users. You
have to use smbpasswd -a username. And telling that, I'm not asking you
anything, I'm telling you what you have to do to solve your issue.

Samba4 ROLE_STANDALONE vs Kerberos = NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

I do not understand why you are doing this, for kerberos to work
correctly, you need to be able to find everything easily and everything
must be using the same time. So, you need kerberos, a dns server and an
ntp server and if you want more than authentication, you need a
fileserver. OH look, I just described Active Directory ?
Not saying you cannot get this setup to work, but why are

How to remap c_drive
I'm working on a class project to setup a PXE boot for one of our labs and part of the project requires me install WINE. Sound pretty straight forward but WINE creates the C-Drive in the users directory and I need a way to tell it to use a global directory to avoid the 3 Windows applications they want to be installed each time someone logs in. We hare going to also script it so each time

nt_status_logon_failure with samba 3.23c
Hello,
I'm uncertain as to whether this went through, my apologies if it is a
duplicate message.
I've got a samba 3.23c box that i'm trying to get Ghost working with for
image storage. I'm using a dos networking client, created by the ghost boot
wizard for a rtl8139 nic. My problem is whenever i try to log
on to the machine i'm getting an authentication error. So, i

net rpc info failure accessing XP: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
I'm trying to remotely shut down a Windows XP machine on my local
network using "net rpc shutdown". I'm coming across errors, so I decided
to back down to the simpler "net rpc info", thinking that there will be
fewer security settings related to seeing things than actually shutting
down the system. Here's the info for the two boxes in question:

Hi,
I have a share that worked fine in samba 2.2.8a, users were able to read and

comment = SALES
path = /home/netshare/sales

smbclient & NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

Windows server on a Active Directory domain:
$ smbclient //fileserver/

session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
I'm pretty sure the username and password is correct since it works
when I use a Windows client to connect to the fileserver. What does

Like so many others, I'm having NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE issues. I've tried
all the fixes I could find to no avail.
