Ohio Linuxfest 2004 Presentation
Hello,
On Saturday, Oct 2nd 2004, I did a 45 minute presentation on
Asterisk to the Ohio Linuxfest. Roughly 350 people attended, and I think I
spoke with nearly all of them at some time during the day. N2Net had an
Asterisk PBX running on a Laptop w/ a pair of SNOM 200 Phones setup for
people to play with. When all was said and done, nearly 800
incoming/outgoing calls were made through the

Peer Review - Linuxfest Presentation Outline
Hello all,
I've been invited to do a presentation on Asterisk for the Ohio
Linuxfest in Columbus this weekend (http://www.ohiolinux.org). Rough
estimates are that nearly 500 people will be attending. I've been working
on an outline for a couple of weeks and I would like to have some peer
review of the information presented.
I am going to have to cut down the content to make it fit in

kernel and netfilter patches already in Redhat AS 4 for IPSEC
I read LinuxFest NW 2005 Presentation pdf. On page 32, mentioned it
required patches on kernel 2.6.x and netfilter and It only said that
SuSE 9.2 and 9.3 had patches on it''s stock kernel. I''m using Redhat AS
4. Anybody knows does the stock kernel and netfilter had theses
patches patched ? or How should I know the kernel and netfilter had
these patches applied ?
thanks!

1.0 RC2 External AGI Issues
Hi All,
I'm trying to execute an external AGI script but get just the following:
-- Executing AGI("SIP/xlite-2fa7", "agi-test") in new stack
-- Launched AGI Script /var/lib/asterisk/agi-bin/agi-test
-- AGI Script agi-test completed, returning 0
For whatever reason, it looks like the AGI script is just exiting without

Sanity check for Shorewall and Openswan VPN and 2.6
I''m just looking for a quick sanity check to make sure what I''m finding
is really all necessary here.
I''m upgrading a gateway/firewall from Linux 2.4 to 2.6 using Mandrake 10.1.
In the old 2.4 kernel I structured my firewall rules around the ipsec0
interface, which I understand isn''t present with Openswan
running under 2.6 (no KLIPS). Ok,
So as I start to

PSTN Access Providers for Asterisk
Asterisk Users,
I'm looking for U.S. providers that will provide access to the PSTN and
allow me to easily use my Asterisk box with their services. I would
prefer a provider that supports number portability, so that I can park my
existing cell number on their network and later move it again, but I'm
open to doing some funky stuff with call forwarding if I have to do that.
Can anyone

inset one map on top of another map
I want to overlay a small inset map on top of another map, but I can't
figure out how to do it.
For example, here are two different maps:
# map 1 - Ohio
map("state", region= "ohio")
# map 2 - US with Ohio darkened
map("state")
map("state", region="ohio", fill=T, add=T)
I would like to add map 2 as a small inset in the corner of map 1.

GEE with own link function
Hello,
I want to fit a GEE with a user-defined link function.
For the user-defined link-function I still read
http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp01/archive/6555.html and
http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/25727.html.
Only for testing purposes I added a new link function
(corlogit) in make.link (as well as in binomial) with
exactly the same code as logit before using my code.

find - text
A while ago I sent mail about wanting to find all files that had a certain
text string in it and changing it to something else. People mentioned
that there is a system tool to do it (gnome has it too). I ran this, for
example to find all files WITH "prog" in the name, and then I did a ps
and I saw simply
find . -iname '*prog*'
then I did something similar, all file names

Hi,
Thanks for the pointing out of the oops! I missed that. Don't worry

Any suggestions on my issue?
Thanks.
