Hanging utilities that read /proc
Today I experienced a hanging dom0 and domU. Applications that tried to access /proc, such as ps, ifconfig, lvdisplay, mdadm all hung after displaying between one and ten lines of output. ''free'' worked and didn''t output anything weird. Apache was running in domU and also didn''t respond. This occurred in both dom0 as well as domU. After some time googling and

SNMP issues since 5.6 upgrade
Hi there... I scanned the archives and did some Google'ing ... can find some references to these errors but didn't find a solution. This started when upgrading some servers from 5.5 to 5.6 release. It's net-snmp creating a lot of errors in the /var/log/messages suddenly. I do believe this is only happening on 64 bit installations but not 100% sure yet... [root at mail1

RODBC on linux
Anyone out there using Linux RODBC and unixODBC to connect to a Microsoft SQL server? If possible can someone post a sample .odbc.ini file? I saw a few discussions on the archives a few years ago, but no config file details were available. Thanks, Whit This e-mail message is intended only for the named recipient(s) above. SNMP for Asterisk
Hi, Is there a module within the Asterisk standard distribution that provides SNMP features? Is there any third party software for that purpose? tons and tons of clients, oh my!
Hello gluster-verse! I'm about to see if GlusterFS can handle a large amount of clients, this was not at all in plans when we initially selected and setup our current configuration. What sort of experience do you (the collective "you" as in y'all) have with a large client to storage brick server ratio? (~1330:1) Where do you see things going awnry? Most of this will be reads

Rails 0.10.1: FCGI stability, WS generator, tons of fixes
This is the point release to tie up the various loose ends introduced with Rails 0.10.0. Action Web Service has seen the most interesting improvements feature-wise with a new generator and tie-ins with the testing setup. There''s better support for XML-RPC: Instead of performing type checking on the parameters the remote client sends, AWS does casting to try and make it compatible

Re: Tons of shiny new stuff (Tobias Luetke)
Tobias, I would have left a comment on your blog, a thanks really, except that the comment submit form is throwing an error. So, thanks for the cool tools, especially the login generator. After deleting the old generator the new one worked and passed all tests in a snap. Like Tim Lucas said, the Hieraki code base is a wonderful resource for someone learning Rails. Much appreciated.

BTRFS warnings on the tons-of-symlinks operations
These warnings occur in the process of creating lots of symlinks before system hangs (well, this time I was luckier and system didn''t hang..) I checked: when system hanged, it was always the same offset in the same function. I failed to get more good traces. I send the best I got. After lots of attempts I passed the usual hanging step.. With lots of warnings I already mentioned.

Tons of D3D improvements?!
In the latest release I counted at least 80 patches that improve wined3d in several different ways, which is absolutely awesome! But I'm wondering where this sudden interest in this specific part comes from (as well as all the sudden translation improvements)... Did the inclusion of WineD3D in other open source projects like VirtualBox suddenly spark some major interest in improving the D3D

Tons of "Failed to decrypt and verify packet"
Hi all, I tried Tinc 1.1 from git on 4 nodes, each one in a datacenter. They were able to ping each other, etc... but I had problem with multicast, nothing seemed to pass (all is OK with Tinc 1.0.23). I checked logs and on every nodes I have a lot of: Failed to decrypt and verify packet And Error while decrypting: error:00000000:lib(0):func(0):reason(0) So I get back to 1.0.23 which works
