Very slow transfers to Samba on Ubuntu
I mounted a samba volume on XP. XP and Ubuntu are connected over 100Mbps
ethernet (router).
I am writing a 4GB file from XP to Ubuntu and the transfer is extremely slow
: only around 1-1.5 MB/s.
This is not a network or disk issue since at the same time this transfer is
gonig on, I can scp the same file from XP to Ubuntu at 3-4 times faster
(around 6MB/s).
What could be wrong? Even for this

quite dramatic and sudden problem...
Hi all
I'm running since a couple of years a samba ver 3.0.33-3.29.el5_6.2

security = ads --> invalide user
Hello
I try to run SAMBA with security = ads on AIX 5.3 with SAMBA 3.0.23d.
"net ads join" was successful and the machine is now visible in the Domain
with the netbios name.
When I try to access the shares on the machine the log.smbd files says:

vmware tools in CentOS5 guest?
Does anyone have vmware-tools from the recent server 1.03 release
running in a CentOS5 guest VM? vmware-config-tools.pl goes through the
motions except for building the vmhgfs module (which it says is only
needed for mapping the host file system) but then X won't start up with
the new configuration.

SAMBA on AIX --> nsswitch.conf?
Hi
I am still trying to run SAMBA on AIX with "security = ads" and I have
a few questions:
- on AIX is no such file as /etc/nsswitch.conf --> Do I have to add
the configuration somewhere else?
- I allways get this "User xy is invalid on this system" if try to map
a share from Windows. What does this mean? Is the user invalid on the
Domain? on AIX? on SAMBA? Is the User

User rights
Hello List,
I have a samba PDC (3.0.10) in a network with some users still running
win98; I would like to restrict the admin rights over their workstations in
order to avoid them installing unauthorized programs or changing configs
like ip addressing or so.
It is possible via the samba PDC or should I to look for a third party
program?
I will appreciate any comment.
Regards,

new way of asterisk and kamailio (openser) realtime integration
Hello,
I put together a new tutorial about asterisk realtime integration with
kamailio (openser). This time the database used is the one of asterisk,
also call routing logic is controlled by asterisk, here is the link:
http://kb.asipto.com/asterisk:realtime:kamailio-3.0.x-asterisk-1.6.2-astdb
Practically is an easier way to scale starting from existing asterisk
installations.

Just browsing through the asterisk.org site and I see in the setup isntructions that only Zaptel, Libpri and Asterisk need to be checked out..
Has Zapata been intergrated into one of the other packages?
