Samba 4.6.7 AD, Netapp CDOT 9.2 and missing "Domain Users" membership
Hi,
we are testing a new AD domain that will replace our old NT4 one, and we
are setting up a new cifs vserver of our Netapp filer (running Clustered
Dataontap 9.2).
The new AD domain was a clean deployment created using "samba-tool
domain provision --server-role=dc --use-rfc2307 ...".
All seems to work well and the Netapp filer joins the domain without
errors and seems to run fine.

Compatibility with NetApp DataONTAP filers?
Good ${time of the day}
I have just been wondering if anyone would know if Samba is compatible with the CIFS implementation of the Network Appliance DataONTAP filers?
http://www.netapp.com/products/filer/ontap.html
I have so far unable to connect to any shared folder on the NetApp filer that require authentication. An attempt to access or list shared resources on the NetApp filer fails with the

problems with PV snapshots
Hello,
I have a Centos 6.2 clsuter with a CLVM partition on which I have a GFS2
file system.
The problem rises when I make a snapshot from my FC NetAPP FAS2020.
After I make the snapshot (it is a rw snapshot) of my LUN, I am not able
to mount it from any of my cluster nodes,
because the Physical Volume is seen two times one time on the standard
LVM partition
and the other time on the snapshot

Samba compatibility with NetAPP filers.
We are running scripts using smbclient to get some data of NetAPP filer and we run into the output below. After doing some digging, I found that there
is a incompatibility between NetAPP Data ONTAP OS and samba. Is this still the case or there is a fix for it. We are running 3.0.10
Any ideas would be great

Windows File Permissions
Greetings,
I just have a couple of questions. One is related to Samba specifically the second deals with Windows Networking, RSYNC, and Linux in general. I have asked it in the RSYNC mailing list, but so far no one has provided any insight.
I apologize if anyone has gone over this information. I have been unable to find much help in the mailing list archives, IRC, or the documentation.

Don't worry about it, it is just confusing when you call a DC, a PDC,
call it your first DC or anything, just don't call it a PDC ;-)

PDC: Linux Client can't join the domain.
Hi there. I've a problem with using samba as Primary Domain Controller
with backend ldap. Version release (Samba 3.2.5, OpenLDAP 2.4.11) on
Debian Lenny.
When I try to join the domain with a Windows XP Pro Client, all works
fine...profiles updating, logon, ecc..but when I try to join the domain
with a Linux Client (Slackware 12.1) I get different errors:
client:~# net rpc join -U

OT: What's wrong with RAID5
Hi all,
Sorry for the OT.
I've got an IBM N3300-A10 NAS. It runs Data Ontap 7.2.5.1.
The problem is, from the docs it says that it only supports either
RAID-DP or RAID4.
What I want to achieve is Max Storage Capacity, so I change it from
RAID-DP to RAID4, but with RAID4, the maximum disk in a RAID Group
decrease from 14 to 7. In the end, either using RAID-DP or RAID4, the
capacity is the same.

Rejecting auth request from client xxx machine account, win7,
Hi All,
I have a strange problem with my SAMBA server as PDC.
I have some win7 machines joined to my domain but when I try to access some
folders on the server I get messages like these:

What version plays well with Windows 7?
I am currently running version 3.3.2 on an older Fedora machine that works just fine with XP. I am trying to get a Win7 machine to work but keep getting trust relationship errors on the final step in the configuration on the Win machine.
This is the error in the logs:

cannot mount share from netapp device
I have been trying to access a personal share being hosted by my
schools netapp server and have been unable to do so using both version
3.04 and version 3.06 of samba. I have read the mailing list archives
and found one set of posts related to the problem however there was no
solution posted, so I am asking if anyone knows how to solve this
problem. The previos posts that I am talking about are

Samba 3 PDC > 3.3.4 broken with Win 7 RTM
I just installed Win 7 RTM (Release to Manufacturing), not RC nor Beta.
After searching the archives I modified the required registry settings
listed in other emails. I upgraded my Samba from the stock Centos 5.3
version to 3.3.7. Joining the domain worked, but I was unable to log in.
I would get a 'Trust relationship denied' type error when trying to log
in as a user of the domain.

smbclient using SMB2+ against NetApp OnTap 8.2 anyone ?
So I just spent a frustrating day trying to
get smbclient from 4.2.x and master connecting
to a NetApp 8.2 box using SMB2 or SMB3 with
NTLM auth.
Short answer - it doesn't work :-(. Longer
answer - the NetApp is choking on something
inside the SPNEGO NTLMSSP packets we're sending
it - giving the error that it couldn't parse
the SPNEGO packet.
Unfortunately (and knowing bugger-all
