Samba and Solidworks (cat and dog)?
Hi all, We've been using samba for a couple of years now and it always running well. But last week we decided to shut down our windows server and move all solidworks file into the samba server. Since then we can't save project created by solidworks with error code shown below Access to \\sambaserver\solid-files\~$project1.SLDPRT was denied. The fact is that ~$*.SLDPRT was created on

Windows machines (WINXP, WIN2K) can/will not join domain
We have been running Samba v3.0.32 On Red Hat Linux for probably 2 years now (or since it was released). Recently over a three week period, all the Windows clients slowly dropped from the domain one by one and we are unable to get them to re-join the domain. We are still able to map to drives and printers on the Samba server and use them with no problem, but cannot join the domain. We need to

nss_winbind / offline logon
Hello list users, I have been struggling to make my AD integrated Debian Lenny box to work fluently also when network connectivity is down. What I would like to achieve: 1) When no network available, local user should still work normally 2) If possible, AD located users should still be able to login if they have previously logged in successfully (cached login) Number 2 is more like optional,

SolidWorks 2013 performance problems
Hi, We're having performance problems with SolidWorks on our shares. Copying the entire entire solidworks project to local disk and opening from there takes around 30s, but opening from the share directly takes minutes. Apparently solidworks knowledge base has this to say about Samba: > The official policy with regards to Linux Samba is that our legal department has advised us that the

Kenneth's Second Commit
I've fixed a heck of a lot of stuff in the time frame of just over ten minutes. And you all care... right. I actually ran Vorbize, and discovered some stupid bugs (e.g., segfault???). Fixed. Both Vorbize and Ogg123 should now speak fluently in Monty's comment-eese. I'll be working on getting both to implement all the comment tags; I'm seriously considering dropping all comment

An alternate "dovecot-auth" daemon using cyrus-sasl
We use dovecot in a heterogeneous environment (Windows/Linux desktops and Linux servers). For unified authentication we use a sheaf "Samba/Openldap" (i.e., Samba NT domain with openldap backend and pam/nss_ldap for Linux). Windows users are authenticated well everywhere, but there is one old issue. As "SPA" (NTLM) against NT domain is not supported by dovecot, it is

Solidworks on Samba
Dear friend, I saw your post http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2008-November/144686.html about running Solidworks with SAMBA as a file server. I'm getting the same issue with the ~files.... Did you solved this issue? Can you explain me how? Thanks, Miki Barzilay

correlated random effects in GLMMGibbs ?
Dear R-users, I wondered if anyone has extended GLMMGibbs to include correlated random effects, and if so, whether they would be willing to let me use their code? Jonathan Myles has no plans to extend glmm in this manner within the foreseeable future. With thanks, Patty -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Assoc Prof Patty Solomon

.net 3.0 and Windows Presentation Framework?
Hi, I'm currently using SolidWorks with Wine 1.3-2, and it works pretty well now. Unfortunately, some add-ons depends on .net30, and particularly WPF. As mono2.x doesn't support WPF, is there a way to use native one from .net30 ? I tried to install dotnet20 and 30 only with winetricks, but it doesn't helps. In fact it trashes my SolidWorks installation, and i had to restore my

Re: Solidworks 2009 on Linux Mint 9
I've noticed some problems with solidworks when using Enterprise Web Hosting (http://www.voipreview.org/enterprise-web-hosting) with my Small Business Web Hosting (http://www.voipreview.org/small-business-web-hosting)... After a couple of trying to redownload and messing around with it a couple of times, I can get it to work.

PJSIP, NAT and STUN/ICE
I'm quite new to Asterisk and using Asterisk 13 on FreeBSD current. Asterisk is behind a NAT router, the physical setup is very much a trivial one. The Asterisk PBX is supposed to act as the telephone gateway for several VoIP/SIP phones. I'm using throughout pjsip as configuration, I have no experience with chan_sip since I started recently using Asterisk for several SoHo and lab's
