CentOS 6, Postfix, and Procmail -- how do I get it to work?
What is the trick to get Postfix's local command to pipe mail through procmail? I have: -bash-4.1$ grep allow_mail_to_commands /etc/postfix/main.cf allow_mail_to_commands = alias, forward and -bash-4.1$ cat .forward |/usr/bin/procmail and a .procmailrc file: -bash-4.1$ cat .procmailrc PATH=/usr/bsd:/bin:/usr/bin:/exp/rcf/share/bin MAILDIR=/var/lib/amanda/Mail #you'd better

portaudit
Any reason why portaudit and its associated infrastructure was not announced to this list or security-notifications? I recently discovered it, and discovered the feature was added to bsd.port.mk in the beginning of feburary. Seeing as the security officer apparently (without announcement) no longer issues security notices (SNs) for ports, I am assuming that portaudit has replaced SNs entirely,

Integrating Dovecot with Amazon Web Services
I did some searching in the mail archives and didn't see any discussion of integration with AWS, so I wanted to through out my thoughts/plans and see if it has been done before. I am setting up my own personal website on EC2 along with an email server, and I really don't like the idea of using the disk drive as permanent mail storage. EBS is too small instance storage is ephermeral.

Samba 4 issues on FreeBSD 9
Hi, I have been experimenting with Samba 4 on FreeBSD 9 and after a lot of googling the core stuff is working (phew). However I have a few problems, I am trying to setup roaming profiles and the tutorials suggest creating the share and then using a windows client to set the ACLs on it, however to do that the user needs the SeDiskOperatorPrivilege priv, so I [midget 23:38] ~ >net rpc rights

zfs/iSCSI: 0000 = SNS Error Type: Current Error (0x70)
Hi, I''m trying to track down an error with a 64bit x86 OpenSolaris 2009.06 ZFS shared via iSCSI and an Ubuntu 10.04 client. The client can successfully log in, but no device node appears. I captured a session with wireshark. When the client attempts a "SCSI: Inquiry LUN: 0x00", OpenSolaris sends a "SCSI Response (Check Condition) LUN:0x00" that contains the

3.0.20 usermap script execution
I have created a mapusers.bash script (listed below) for mapping Active Directory handles to unix logins. This script is currently working as documented. I would like some insight into how and when this script gets called. I assumed that upon establishing each samba connection, after the active directory handle gets authenticated with the domain controller it passes the domain\handle to this

Samba 2.2.7 and 3.0.0b3 slow transfers with Win2k and WinXP
Hi all, I'm thoroughly stumped. I have a network of Windows 2k and Windows XP Professional machines working off of Samba served home directories. Everything works. Sign-ons are relatively quick, no odd errors in the samba logs or on the Windows boxes, and all the configuration seems to work fine wrt all functions. Name lookups via nmblookup or nbtstat work fine (though it looks like

PXE client does not honor "hostname" parameter passed by DHCP server
Hello all, I would like to seek advise on the following; I have configured linux NFSroot images for a bunch of servers and am able to boot and run stuff happily; one nuance that bothers me is that, for instance, my Fedora6 (x64) (kernel 2.6.22), (and noticed also in some other distros - Fedora8, Ubuntu710), the client boots but DOES NOT seem to pick up the hostname I pass it through the DCHP
