Problem with "password server" setup. What is *SMBSERVER?
I have Samba 1.9.18p3 running under Solaris 2.6. I'm trying to use my
sites PDC (running under NT) as the password server for this
installation. For the most part this is working correctly.
However, I have a few users that have changed their NT/Novell (We run
Novell Intranetware) passwords and found that they could no longer
access Samba drives off the Solaris box. Experimenting found that

that uses the SMB dialect for authenticating user id/passwords
with an SMB server (OS/2 Warp Server, NT, Samba, AIX, etc.).
The code is essentially built on top of portions of Samba 2.0.6 release
code.
The code uses the get_dc_list() routine (source/libsmb/namequery.c)
introduced in 2.0.6. to allow the client to discover the DC to

Hi, I am trying to list the shares on a windows ME machine and I am getting
the following
[root]# smbclient -L 192.168.0.253
added interface ip=192.168.0.1 bcast=192.168.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
session request to 192.168.0.253 failed (Called name not present)
session request to 192 failed (Called name not present)
session request to *SMBSERVER failed (Called name not present)

I am having a problem with samba on a Sun Ultra running Solaris 2.6. I got the error:

session request to *SMBSERVER failed

This happened after a reboot, samba was running perfect before. The smb.conf is fine, it was tested on another server and worked. Netstat -a shows that it is listening on port 139.
Any ideas?

[2.0.7pre1] PDC.ACADIAU.CA rejected the session for name *SMBSERVER.
When trying to authenticate, I'm getting the above error in my
log.<client> file on the samba server ... have checked the list archives,
and can't find any real answer, but some related questions ...
I'm still searching for an answer in teh docs, but if anyone has an idea,
I'm open :)

Only browsing and net view \\smbserver fails with unassigned share names :(

I'm having a browsing problem with W2k on my 2.0.9 Samba

Not working is access from Win2k Clients:
"net view \\ixdp425" is the first test that fails, not meaning

Hi all, I have a Solaris 2.7 host with a recent install of samba-2.2.2.
I am using an smb.conf from a simmilar host that works perfectly. I
can't seem to connect to the host with Samba. I am getting:

I am using survreg() to estimate the parameters of a Weibull density having
right-censored observations. Some observations are weighted. To do that I
regress the weighed observations against a column of ones.
When I enter the data as 37 weighted observations, the parameter estimates
are exactly the same as when I enter the data as the corresponding 70
unweighted observations.

.htaccess problems..... Using Drupal
Hi All;
I am trying out the web software from www.drupal.org and I have it

Every time I try to use the .htaccess file in the root directory
With even one command showing I get a server mis-config error on the site.

DAHDIScan() only returns dead air

I'm running Asterisk 1.4.26.2, DAHDI 2.2.0.2, and libpri 1.4.10.2 on Ubuntu
with a Digium TE122 connected to my PRI.
I have an extension setup so that managers can monitor calls:

Samba 2.2.8a Print Driver Issues Solaris 8
Hi;
I've reciently upgraded 3 print servers on Solaris 8 from Samba 2.0.9 to
2.2.8a and am running in to difficulties related to clients being able to
configure printer drivers. I do not use the [print$] for serving up drivers
to install from the print server. I provide access to drivers from a common
share from the Microsoft Domain the print servers participate in. I'm still

extension rather than '.wav', but that is not the issue. What appears to
be happening is that the '.wav' extension on your named output file from

In the manual page this command is used for converting a mailbox

Yet I am getting this error and the mdbox folder is not created.

passthrough failure on Radeon HD 6450.

I am passing through ATI adapter on DQ45CB, but failed. Can someone help provide some clue? I can make sure VT-D enabled?

[LLVMdev] Noob questions about setting up on Win32
Here's an equally dumb question: the wiki page you mention suggests
installing bison and flex and a few other packages. But I don't see these
packages anywhere on the Sourceforge MinGW page; do I get them from
elsewhere, and then build them using MinGW's gcc?
