Unable to use the Banner keyword in a Match Block in OpenSSH 4.4p1
I am running Openssh 4.4p1 on a Solaris 9 server. I would like the accting service account to be able to run accounting scripts from a central server without the standard pre-login banner. At the end of the sshd_config file I have the following, where /etc/nobanner is an empty file: Banner /etc/issue Match User accting Banner /etc/nobanner When an attempt is made to restart sshd, the

Samba 3.0.7, print banner pages
Greetings, I recently upgraded my print server from Samba 2.2.8a to 3.0.7 and all is working well except banner pages for the print jobs. I am getting them now an I don't want them. This is under Sun Solaris 9 using the stock LP spooler. In my smb.conf I have had set (for years now) print commands of like the following: print command = lp -dnodis2 -c -o nobanner -s %s; rm %s The

almost printing
Ok, I've managed to print to my HPDeskjet 694c attached to a Solaris 8 box running samba 2.2.2 from Win98. Problem is with the left margin, there are these little lines (garbage) running down the 1st column on the left side of the page. Also, when I print a page from Word 97, the whole page doesn't print (about 95% of it) and starts a little too far down the page. Printing was perfect

Printing banners
Hi I'm running Samba 2.2.8a on a UnixWare 7.1.3 box. I'd set up the Samba printer shares, and it seemed to be working fine (only live for a couple of weeks). However, I've just added some heavy users, and the printer daemon keeps bombing out. I'd configured the printers to use lpr, but someone suggested I should use lp, so I thought I'd give this a go at the weekend.

setting up printers with Samba and Windows NT workstation
Hello all. I'm a samba newbie given the task of setting up samba to act as a print server for 5 HP laser printers ranging from the LaserJet 4MV to the LaserJet 8150N. I've done a search of the samba mailing list archives to see if my problem has already been addressed, but I have been unable to find anything that refers to the same error I'm receiving. I am using SWAT to administer

Help with Samba 2.2.X on Solaris 2.8
Samba Folks, I have a major problem with Samba 2.2.8 randomly dropping network connections on our Solaris 2.8 SUN systems and could use some help. On a random basis Samba will drop network connections and not allow them to re-established until the PC system is rebooted. The disconnect error is typically a broken pipe error: 2003/02/21 09:42:03, 0] lib/util_sock.c:write_socket_data(499)

Mail items not showing in outlook from network shared pst file
We are using a solaris box running samba We have seen that approximately one month's email is missing from a user's pst file if the file is located on a samba share. The general and specific sections of our smb.conf file are as below. The mailboxes are stored in the [mail] share. # Samba config file created using SWAT # from 10.186.1.254 (10.186.1.254) # Date: 2005/07/27

SID problems?
I?ve upgraded from Samba 2 to version 3, and am having some problems. I think they?re related to SIDs, which I?ve not really been aware of before! Currently I only have the Samba server which is acting as PDC for Win XP Pro machines. My smb.conf looks like: ------------------------------------------- [global] netbios name = scofp1 workgroup = SCODOMAIN server string = Samba

"username map" parameter not working after upgrade to SAMBA 3
I have been using the "username map" parameter for some time on various versions of Samba 2, and it has worked nicely. Last week I upgraded to Samba 3 and integrated with Active Directory. Since I am using Solaris 8, and "nsswitch.conf" doesn't support winbindd, I am using the "add user script" parameter to add users. What is happening is that users in

Kyocera P6230cdn driver installation on print server fails
As you did see on the download location. http://downloads.van-belle.nl/samba4/Patches/debian-S12761-s3-printing-Change-to-GUID-dir-if-we-deal-with-COPY.patch Is a working fix. I've used that in lots of samba versions. But i dont need the patch anymore, so i removed it from the builds. You can try : https://downloads.van-belle.nl/samba4/Kyocera/ Which is a customized driver made for me

Actually at van-belle it is 4.6.7 (or 4.6.9) for stretch. Printing does not work
Hi, I've tried unsuccessfully to get printing working under wine. I use wine version 20040309 on Debian unstable. I use cups for printing and it works without problems. According to the wine doc, I did not add any entries to the wine config file or to the registry. My printcap file looks like this: kyocera|Kyocera FS-1500:rm=sbs93:rp=kyocera: phaser|phaser:rm=sbs93:rp=phaser: When I

Kyocera P6230cdn driver installation on print server fails
First of all, I forgot to mention, that I have Debian 9 with standard Samba 4.5. Modifying the oemsetup.inf should not be neccessary as I have set the os_major/minor to 6/0. The generic driver which comes with Windows is a Type 4 which should not be supported by samba as far as I read. I tried the van-belle driver. Same situation. I have found samba 4.8 for stretch at http://apt.van-belle.nl.
