Samba AD member and connections from non-AD systems
Hi - I've scoured the mailing list archives as well as other help sources online and haven't figured out what my problem is or what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Scenario: I have a samba 3.5.5 server running on CentOS 5.5. This system is a member of an Active Directory domain. FYI, I am not the domain administrator, but I am an OU admin and can create

Subsequent Authentication Failures
Hi all - I couldn't find an answer to this problem, so maybe someone out there can help me. I'd definitely appreciate it. I've been running a domain using a Samba PDC for quite a while now and this appears to be a new problem. The PDC uses LDAP as the backend and that has worked fine; the version is 3.0.25a. I have a number of Samba servers that are members of this domain,

Three processes for each mongrel server?
Hi everyone. Zed, thanks for Mongrel. I''ve been running mongrel on my WiFi cafe site (http://wifi.earthcode.com), and it''s been great. It handled a front-page digg a few weeks ago without blinking. However, I''m setting up a staging environment right now, and I''m getting what looks like three mongrel processes *all listening on the same port* for each mongrel

Commands failing silently?
Hello all: I have a couple CentOS 4 servers (all up-to-date) that are having strange command failures. I first noticed this with a perl script that uses lots of system calls. Basically, sometimes a command just won't run: thoth(52) /tmp> ls thoth(53) /tmp> ls thoth(54) /tmp> ls thoth(55) /tmp> ls learner lost+found/ thoth(56) /tmp> ls learner lost+found/ thoth(57)

Expected ... to define (rails version 1.2.2)
Hi, I''m having a mysterious problem that occurs when I''m using Rails 1.2.2. My app works fine when the environment.rb file reads: RAILS_GEM_VERSION = ''1.1.6'' When I change this to: RAILS_GEM_VERSION = ''1.2.2'' and try to load http://<mydevhost>:3000/srs/, I get the following traceback in the developer log: Expected

forwarding stdin/out to remote socket
Hi! Some vnc clients has '-via ssh_gateway' option to simplify the setup of ssh port forwarding. Basically the option implements the following 3 steps: 1. Find local port available for listening. 2. Fork/exec ssh -L found_port:vnc_host:vnc_port ssh_gateway sleep some_delay 3. Connect to the found_port Although convenient the setup has its problems. First, it exposes the remote vnc

Control multi-threading in standard matrix product
Hi Tomas, Thanks for your answer. Indeed, I checked and my R-3.4.1 installed from the ubuntu repository use 'libopenblasp-r0.2.18.so' while my R-3.3.2 that I did compiled on my machine use 'libRblas.so' which explain the difference of behavior. I will use RhpcBLASctl to avoid issue when combining matrix product and other multi-threading package. Maybe this point regarding

Browsing problem
Hi, I've got a browsing problem, I'm searching the error for a long time now so I think betimes it's a bug ;-) For debugging purposes, I've left away everything in the network that's not necessary. There's now only one XP-Prof workstation (domain member) and one samba server (3.0.22, acting as PDC) anymore. Bind9 is the local DNS server; Forward and PTR entries are

Getting rid of printer temp files
You need to add a semicolon and then the command rm %s to the end of your print command. However, you'll need to delete the files already there manually from Unix. print command = /bin/pt %p %s %M %U %T %a %v %m %I %d;rm %s Steve Litt At 03:22 AM 12/09/1999 +1100, you wrote: >I've set up Samba 2.0.6 for use as a print server on our company NT >network. Shares not visible from Win2k
Hi, Please forgive such a simple question. I have installed Samba using SWAT to configure it. The shares user are visible on the box hosting the Samba server using "smbclient -L hostname" and I can connect to the share using "smbclient //edev/mlong -U sharename" When browsing network neighborhood on a Win2K machine the Server is visible but the shares are not available.

Printer fun - controlling queue from Windows NT clients
I have set up a Samba server to act as our lab's print server for a bunch of NT clients. It works quite well, except for one thing. Nobody can control the print queue from Windows. When a job is sent, it never shows up in the Windows print queue window, even when there are lots of other jobs ahead of it. Using lpq under Linux shows the jobs just fine. Lprm et al work perfectly too. So I assume

win2k/samba problem
I am unable to see my samba server from my Win2k Pro machine. Can someone please help me out? I had a problem with Samba early on. The problem was resoved by removing TCP/IP from my Win2k machine and then reinstalling TCP/IP. Now I've stumbled into this problem. The following error is repeated over and over in my event viewer: ------------------------------ Event Type: Error Event

Control multi-threading in standard matrix product
Hi Ista, Maybe a little comment in the 'matmult {base}' doc page or on the 'options {base}' in the field 'matprod' would be useful to remind users to be cautious regarding BLAS multi-threading? I understand why this is a BLAS related issue and not directly an R related issue. Nonetheless, my concern was for non-advanced R users, that may don't even know what BLAS

forwarding data ?
Hi, I'm trying to configure ssh to get this behaviour: ssh binds on "localhost:60110" and when a local application connect to that port, all the data are forwarded to the "server". The particular fact is that I can't use port forwarding because I don't have any pop3 daemon on the "server". In fact I'm using a pop3 script as user's shell! $

Control multi-threading in standard matrix product
Dear R Core Team, I wish to report what can be viewed as a bug or at least a strange behavior in R-3.4.1. I ask my question here (as recommended on https://www.r-project.org/bugs.html) since I am not member of the R's Bugzilla. When running 'R --vanilla' from the command line, the standard matrix product is by default based on BLAS and multi-threaded on all cores available on

config.gem hassles (again)
Just when i think i''ve got my head around including gems with gem.config in my environment.rb file i hit another hurdle. The latest one involves redlcoth, which one of my plugins needs. my installed redcloth gem is in this folder: /var/lib/gems/1.8/gems/RedCloth-4.2.2/ and its main lib folder is called ''redcloth''. I managed to freeze it into my app by calling

Question about version 2.0.6 & 2.0.7
Hi, This is my first time mailing to this site. I am running two different versions of Samba on two different servers. 2.0.6 on server A & 2.0.7 on server B In the smb.conf file for 2.0.6 I have a parameter, allow hosts=, that contains multipul IP addresses on each entry & in the global entry. On server B, 2.0.7, I do not have this parameter defined on any entry. My question is :

MSDFS redirection WinXP SP2
I am currently having problems accesing our samba msdfs shares from Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 and WinXP SP1 seem unaffected. I have attached the smb.conf and the exports files that define the shares. Running ethereal on the different clients seems to point to the fact that XP SP2 no longer seems to be using the netbios-ssn (139) port. for GET_DFS_REFERRAL instead its using microsoft-ds
