[Fwd: Re: -- SOLVED -- "valid users" + ldap on Solaris 10 problems]
Hi All! We have just solved the problem. The error resides in the code placed in /samba-X.X.X/source/lib/util_getent.c between line 275 and 291 . By default, when you compile samba with solaris support, samba uses "getgrnam" function because of the "BROKEN_GETRNAM=1" in Makefile. This function is what's making samba going wrong. The soluction was to undefine

Im not sure I could check this on a dos client. any suggestions? We are using a 10mbit dumb hub. The server that is

Building on Mac OS X doesn't work. It fails with this error: configure: error: No 16 bit type found on this platform! I've posted the config.log here: https://gist.github.com/1878663 I think something is going wrong with how the configure script is detecting the platform. Solidworks on Samba
Dear friend, I saw your post http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2008-November/144686.html about running Solidworks with SAMBA as a file server. I'm getting the same issue with the ~files.... Did you solved this issue? Can you explain me how? Thanks, Miki Barzilay

Plan for libogg release
Hi all, I am curious, when do you plan to release new libogg? The current release is unusable on Mac because the u_int32_t problem. So I have to build against the trunk. If you are not ready with other features, why not release a small point release just to fix such an contained and small issue. search without flush.
Hi, Is it possible to perform a search without flushing the index? I've got an application that updates the index every 4 hours but I need to be able to search the new data fairly quickly after the index is updated. The problem revolves around the fact that the update is often much less than 10 000 documents so it isn't being flushed until quite a bit latter. I realise I can do a flush

Windows client using UPPERCASEto connect to Samba3.02aserve
Hi again and thanks I'm using WinNT 4.0 as my network PDC. The Samba server is only a member server. Any idea how to solve this issue? Mixed effects model where nested factor is not the repeated across treatments lme???
Hi, I have searched the archives and can't quite confirm the answer to this. I appreciate your time... I have 4 treatments (fixed) and I would like to know if there is a significant difference in metal volume (metal) between the treatments. The experiment has 5 blocks (random) in each treatment and no block is repeated across treatments. Within each plot there are varying numbers of

Problems seeking with liboggz
Hi, I intend to use Ogg+Speex for voice recording/playback in a VoIP app. I am experimenting with liboggz to get acquainted with its API. As test files I am using some Ogg-Speex files converted from WAV files with speexenc.exe. I wrote a little testing app in Visual Studio 2010 under Windows 7. I defined OggzReadPage and OggzReadPacket callbacks with oggz_set_read_page()

Big Problem with ml-4500
Hi All I bought the Samsung ML-4500 Laser Printer. I installed it on Mandrake 9.0 successfully using cups and I cant print from the Linux itself. I added it to the Samba as Shared Printer. The Problem started when I wanted to connect from one of winblows :( The process required me to install the driver from the CD but for my surprise I couldn't install the drivers as the Winblow OS

Setting puppetmaster modulepath from inside manifests
Greetings all Am trying to solve a problem, not entirely sure I''m approaching it from the right angle. Setting up a reasonably big site (servercount in the four digits) with puppetmaster and clients (puppet 2.6.x). We are required to have versioned modules (base SOE module, app X module, app Y module, etc - all with multiple classes etc inside) managed on an underlying SVN repository. A

CentOS as an internet gateway
I would add the below: -Recommend using CentOS 4.0 -Use squid rpm, no tar (this is for new users I'm guessing). -Recommend using etherape and iptraf (available as rpms) for a graphical overview of traffic. http://etherape.sourceforge.net/ -Recommend the use of chkrootkit, and TCP Wrappers (at the least put ALL: ALL EXCEPT PARANOID in /etc/hosts.allow) to protect servers. -Provide some

Problems seeking with liboggz
Hi, The Ogg-Speex test file I used is CBR. I am sure of that by running oggz-dump on the file and confirming that all audio packets have 38 bytes; that means (for narrowband) a constant 15 Kbps. I wrote a very basic test program in Visual Studio 2010 that demonstrates the strange behaviour I mentioned. The output shows that the audio file has 8 pages, 6 of them

IPMI serial console
Hi all, A recent thread inspired me to try getting a proper serial console working on a Supermicro X9SCL motherboard with IPMI. However I find that while I see loader messages and the getty I enabled after boot I don't get any kernel messages which does somewhat limit the utility.. The BMC creates COM3 (/dev/cuau2) which works with getty. I modified /boot/loader.conf like so..
