Embedded HW: asterisk with USB ISDN TA on NSLU2/Debian (fwd)
Hello,
with regard to the description of testing asterisk + USB ISDN TA on
OpenSlug:
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/OpenSlug/Asterisk
and
NSLU2 running Debian
http://peter.korsgaard.com/articles/debian-nslu2.php
I've tested the same thing (asterisk as VoIP/PSTN gateway) on an NSLU2
running Debian (which uses the CPU in little endian mode).
Results so far:

Cannot log in to domain
Hi folks,
Just yesterday, my Samba installation on OpenSlug suddenly stopped
working, out of the blue. Now, users on my WinXP SP2 systems cannot
under any circumstances log in to the domain. Local Windows users
however can map shares with no problem.
When a domain user attempts to log on to a domain member PC (joining
the domain works fine, by the way), they are denied with the generic

Pruning embedded samba 3.6 installation
I'm using the Yocto Project to build an embedded distro, to which I'm adding
Samba 3.6 from OpenEmbedded. Doing so increases my root file system from
about 63MB to 175MB. I seem to be building a large Samba server with a small
ancillary operating system tacked onto it.
I listed the files in my file system image, and see that lots of the
commands are quite large. I understand that Samba 4

Using the Yocto Project for Upstream Testing
Greetings All,
I've already mentioned this on the GCC side but it seems that the Yocto
Project
has a class for testing upstream projects. The project is used for
building embedded
distributions but due to the ability with bitbake and the amount of
supported upstream
projects I've asked them to mention that other projects are interested
in seeing this
happen at the usual Embedded

: error while loading shared libraries: libdovecot.so.0 (arm cross compile)
Hi.
I've made a new attempt at build Dovecot. The build and then install
processes appeared to work find. Then when I try to run Dovecot it
reports the error:
/share/MD0_DATA/optware/opt/sbin/dovecot: error while loading shared
libraries: libdovecot.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file

I hope someone can enlighten me on the following phenomenon.

Asterisk on NSLU2 : Grandstream not registering
Hello there !
I have successfully installed Asterisk on a normal server and on a
Linksys WRT610N with DD-WRT running from connected USB-stick. This is
not my first Asterisk-installation. I'm always finding a smaller and
smaller platform to install Asterisk on.
But now I encounter a problem.
I'm using the same Grandstream GXP2010 with a of my installations. Every

samba 3.0.22 and OS/2 connectivity
Hi All
I have a Linksys NSLU2 device which is used to hook USB2 drives upto my
network as network attached storage.
The Linksys firmware upgrade for this device includes samba 3.0.11 which
is a non-starter regarding OS/2 connectivity.
There is an alternative firmware based on the Linksys firmware called
Unslung from http://www.nslu2-linux.org/
The Unslung firmware allows

Patches for klibc 1.5.1x
Hello,
in OpenEmbedded we build kexec-tools and kexecboot statically linked
against klibc.
So we gathered some patches for klibc_1.5.15 here:
http://cgit.openembedded.org/cgit.cgi/openembedded/tree/recipes/klibc
Patches and utils have been added (wc, losetup, modprobe) as well as
fs-detection for vfat and jffs2.
Perhaps someone can find something useful...
We are waiting for the 1.5.16 release

Samba4.4.5 cross compilation for PowerPC
Hi List,
I need your help in samba4.4 cross compile for PowerPC.
Im using samba-4.4.5.
As suggested by some folks in below links I used cross answers method.

Playing flac files from external hard drive
Hi Kerry,
Thanks for the detailed information. I have seen some mp3 players that claim
to play flac, so I think that this is not a problem any longer. My disk is
formatted to FAT32 because in the past I tried to access it through some
backwards Windows system and had to make sure it could be read by it.
The only problem remains accessing the data through a USB connection,
because the disk is

rsync error: protocol incompatibility (code 2) at rsync.c, using --iconv=. and (code 2) and rsync-3.0.0pre8
Dear List,
Running rsync on our intradisk Xscale Arm BigEndian MiniServer (NAS)
System is causing some problems running
on special character files and crashing.
Rsync is syncing running on a mounted samba share, syncing to the local
disk. It is started with the parameters
--iconv=. what I suggest is the solution for syncing the attached file.

R-2.0.0 on ARM (Sharp Zaurus)
Hi All,
I've recently dusted off my cross-compiling hat and decided to add R to the
OpenEmbedded build environment (this is used to build the
OpenZaurus/Familiar distributions for the Zaurus/iPAQ amongst other things -
I note there's also work underway to add the Psion 5mx etc. to
OpenEmbedded).
OpenEmbedded builds now use -soft-float which makes floating point
operations something like

[LLVMdev] Using LLVM as a crosscompiler
Hi Koen,
The process to build llvm-gcc as a crosscompiler is basically the same
as build a normal gcc as crosscompiler. The differences: you need a
LLVM installed (compiled for the host). You must configure llvm-gcc
with --enable-llvm.
Problems:
- Today LLVM supports ARM/EABI, but llvm-gcc don't. You must apply the patch:
