[Bug 3818] New: Release Notes title references "10p2", but the actual portable release appears to be "10p1"
https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3818
Bug ID: 3818
Summary: Release Notes title references "10p2", but the
actual
portable release appears to be "10p1"
Product: Portable OpenSSH
Version: 10.0p1
Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: trivial
Priority: P5
Component: Documentation
Assignee: unassigned-bugs at mindrot.org
Reporter: kirk.hays at biamp.com
Was working on a bitbake recipe for portable 10.0, and happened to
notice that the subheading on the release notes page
(https://www.openssh.com/releasenotes.html) is "OpenSSH 10.0/10.0p2
(2025-04-09)", but the actual portable release is "10.0p1".
Yeah, I'm "that guy." Sorry.

Regarding the Portable OpenSSH 10.0 release:
Due to an error in the release process, the recent Portable OpenSSH
release identifies itself as 10.0p2 rather than the intended 10.0p1.
We do not intend to make a new release to fix this mistake. This
portable OpenSSH release will henceforth be knows as 10.0p2 and no
release numbered 10.0p1 will be made.
Sorry for the confusion,
Damien Miller

--- Comment #2 from Kirk Hays <kirk.hays at biamp.com> ---
All fine and good, but the file list at:
http://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/OpenSSH/portable/
Includes the following:
openssh-10.0p1-vs-openbsd.diff.gz 09-Apr-2025 01:08
873780
openssh-10.0p1.tar.gz 09-Apr-2025 01:08
1972675
openssh-10.0p1.tar.gz.asc 09-Apr-2025 01:08
833
and nothing numbered "10.0p2".
Which accounts for my confusion.

Fair enough. We have copied the 10.0p1 files to their equivalent
10.0p2 names, eg
https://cdn.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/OpenSSH/portable/openssh-10.0p2.tar.gz
and updated the filenames in the release notes at
https://www.openssh.com/releasenotes.html (the site hasn't updated yet,
but should within the next hour).
