solaris 8/samba3.0alpha15: ld.so.1: ls: fatal: reloca tion error: file /lib/nss_winbind.so.1: symbol socket: referenced symbol not found
I had the same problem. You need to go into your Makefile and add the [LIBS] definition to the part where winbind.so is linked. Just take it on to the end of the line and run "make" and "make install" again. You might want to do a "make uninstall" and a "make clean" first. -Dan -----Original Message----- From: Jelmer Vernooij [mailto:jelmer@nl.linux.org]

Mailing list etiquette? [mildly off-topic]
Since i've gotten so much help from this list with my samba issues, i've been trying to be active and help others, but heres my question. If I reply to someone, should I send it JUST to the mailing list, JUST to the person i'm helping, or both? I've been keeping it on the mailing list, but some people may want the help to come into their main mailbox. Should I send to both?

weird routing issue
Hi, I have the following tinc grid: http://keetweej.vanheusden.com/stats/tinc-fvh-network-graph.png Now a funny thing happens: bpsolxp routes traffic to clientbp via 'server', not directly. Samba Start
How are you verifying? Have you tried using top and looking for smbd and nmbd? Swat may be giving you erroneous info if that is what you are using to verify. Hi everyone, you can find the current version of my enhanced tinc using subversion: svn://tardyon.mon-clan.de/tinc I allowed anonymous read access, so feel free to download the sources. Unfortunately, my enhancements are based on a rather old git-checkout from Guus. The version should run under windows and Debian/Ubuntu. Can't Install Samba 3.0.14a
I'm running FC3 with its bundled samba 3.0.11-fc3, and I'm trying to update to 3.0.14a. I've downloaded the rpms from samba.org, and (I think) I've backed up the original samba installation--/etc/samba--and I've stopped smb (I had to kill the smbd and nmbd processes; "/etc/rc.d/init.d/smb stop" didn't work). I've also withdrawn (make uninstall) an

The main emphasis in this branch is support for the Active Directory logon protocols used by Windows 2000 and above. Samba 4 is currently not yet in a state where it is usable in production environments. Note the

IBM BladeCenter HS20 blades
Greetings, We have purchased an IBM BladeCenter and I am in the process of testing Linux installation on these things (boot off SAN i.e. qla2300 driver, not using internal drives). My distro of choice is Debian, however, since I'm really not interested in trying to hand compile all the drivers, I decided to try CentOS (which I'm so far very impressed with). On boot, as with the
