Using idmap_rid backend, cannot browse home directory from XP
Samba version is 3.0.10 on Gentoo linux. I am trying to use idmap_rid backend in a Windows AD environment, the Linux PC acting only as a domain member. I am using idmap_rid because I need UID/GID predictability. I can log in to console correctly, and it shows the right user and the "Domain Users" as the group. When I use default winbind TDB, I can browse the home directory from an XP

Register Allocation and Scheduling Issues
Hello, I have defined 8 registers in registerinfo.td file in the following order: R_0, R_1, R_2, R_3, R_4, R_5, R_6, R_7 But the generated assembly code only uses 2 registers. How to enable it to use all 8? Also can i control the ordering like after R_0 can i use R_5 without changes in registerinfo.td? What changes are required here? either in scheduling or register allocation phases?

AVX Scheduling and Parallelism
Hi, Zvi, I agree. In the context of targeting the KNL, however, I'm a bit concerned about the addressing, and specifically, the size of the resulting encoding: > vmovdqu32 zmm0, zmmword ptr [rax + c+401280] ;load b[401280] in > zmm0 > > vpaddd zmm1, zmm1, zmmword ptr [rax + b+401344] > ; zmm1<-zmm1+b[401344] The KNL can only

SMB3.0 with XP Home and Win98SE clients. XP no go, what should I do?
I want to have SMB server to authenticate all my users. Problem is that I have 8 Win98SE workstations and 2 XP Home laptops. I know XP Home won't do domain log-ons. What are my options (I would realy hate giving M$ more money by upgrading laptops to PRO)? How can I do user based log-ins in that kind of environment? Thanks, Apollo

AVX Scheduling and Parallelism
Hi Ahmed, >From what can be seen in the code snippet you provided, the reuse of XMM0 and XMM1 across loop-unroll instances does not inhibit instruction-level parallelism. Modern X86 processors use register renaming that can eliminate the dependencies in the instruction stream. In the example you provided, the processor should be able to identify the 2-vloads + vadd + vstore sequences as

Accessing member server prompts for credentials
Hi, I'm trying to join a server as an AD member but it isn't working. I do: kinit ADMINISTRATOR@DOMAIN1.CO.UK which prompts for the password and displays nothing else. Then I do: net ads join -U Administrator%XXXXX which returns: Using short domain name -- DOMAIN1 Joined 'SERVER1' to realm 'DOMAIN1.CO.UK' So all looks OK, but when I try to browse the shares on

domain users in local groups with Winbind/Samba/Redhat
Hi, I am running a Samba 2.2.7a on Redhat 7.3 in a NT domain. For authentication I am using the domainusers. This is done by Winbind 2.2.7a which verifies the existens of the users on the PDC. So I dont't have to create local users (/etc/passwd) for users who want to connect to the shares in the smb.conf. I authorise them by adding valid users = domain+domainuser to the smb.conf. This works

Last guy to get BV working outbound?
I have tried everything to get BV working outbound. All worked fine until the BV change last week. I called BV and they changed me to sip gen with a new password. I stripped my Asterisk server to one phone on Zap/1 until I get this working. The same BV account works fine with a SPA-3000 so I don't suspect a firewall problem. Symptoms: Asterisk registers with BV Ok Incoming calls work
