can't export from iMovie 08 to ogg theora/vorbis?
Hey, I got this report on irc and I thought I would pass it along. I
verified on my machine as well.
If you have the XiphQT components installed (I have 0.1.8) and you try
to export from iMovie '08 you get a vague dialog that says:
Unable to export movie
The movie could not be exported because an error occurred. (Error code
= -32766)
I tried messing with some of the settings, but no

transcoding to theora from quicktime using xiphqt
Hi,
I'm trying to convert some quicktime files into Ogg/Theora using the
Xiph QuickTime Components version 1.8.
The end goal is to stream these files using apache httpd and the cortado
applet (and hopefully the embedded players that will be in Firefox
soon).
Using iMovie DV on OS X 10.4.11 (intel) I'm able to export as an ogg
movie, however the resultant file has problems with audio on

Metadata
Hey everyone, according to Wikipedia's 4-year-old information, there is no standard for putting metadata into an Ogg file. That metadata must be included in the codec.
For example, what if I want to make a Theora movie and include information about the color space or embed an ICC profile? Or can I include general textual information, like copyright? What about timecode?

XiphQT doesn't export to Ogg Theora
Hi ,
I tried XiphQT with QuickTime to view all Ogg Theora files and works
perfectly.
I also try to import these Ogg Theora files into iMovie and works perfectly.
But there is a lack of export Ogg Theora function into QuickTime.
XiphQT component works well but you can't make Ogg Theora files.
There is a way to open a new ticket for this request?

Best Way to Import HC-X800 1080 60p/50p MTS to iMovie HD
Panasonic HC-X800 is expert HD camcorder with 3MOS system Pro, shooting
1080 60p/50p AVCHD footage at bitrates of up to 28Mbit/sec and
exhibiting outstanding HD images with minimum noise. The HC-X800 records
AVCHD MTS videos on P2 card.
You may want to edit AVCHD MTS videos you shoot with iMovie. The problem
is that iMovie often cannot import and recognize the 60p/50p footages,
nor can it accept

XiphQT / Theora Questions
Hello, I hope this is not an inappropriate list for this.
This is the list suggested by http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/
I use Linux exclusively at the moment and do not plan on buying a Mac,
but I am working on a CMS including html5 media support.
Patent licensing costs forbid decoding proprietary video formats on the
server for transcode into Ogg Theora so I am looking for a way that non

Free Slideshow Maker Comparison and Brief Tutorial
People are fond of free things, maybe more obviously during recession days. Not you? Well, you could still get through this article to know about how to create slideshow for free with slideshow making software. None of them would cost you a penny. Actually they probably exist in your computer system. So, just locate and run to start slideshow making, at least to kill boring time or relive

archive of legacy oggenc/oggenc2 encoders for windows?
Thanks for all the info - I was able to find exactly what I was looking for
here:
http://codecs.ex-sounds.net/ogg/vorbis/oggenc/
As for what I'm up to, I have a memory-limited port of the Tremor Vorbis
decoder that I want to test on some older vorbis encoders for backwards
compatibility purposes. Nothing too nefarious. ;)

Embedding Wall Time into Ogg Streams
Hi,
Is anyone aware of existing discussion on embedding the actual wall time
(as in RFC-822 date-time) into Ogg streams of continuous or
semi-continuous recordings? And any methods of addressing Ogg streams by
the wall time in lieu of a standard timecode?
Ideally, users would be able to take note of the wall time during an event
of interest, then retrieve the segment by that same wall time

True.

More generally, in a stream in the Ogg file.
Codecs are streams, but so are things like
Ogg Skeleton. Information about Metadata
has been collected together in the Xiph Wiki

Seeking in WebM
Hi everyone, I'm working on a WebM plug-in for Premiere. You probably already know that WebM is a Matroska container that uses Vorbis for audio compression. I'm pretty new to the world of audio compression and need some help. You can see my code here:
http://github.com/fnordware/AdobeWebM
First of all, I wonder if it's possible to seek to an exact audio sample in WebM. Whereas

Synchronize listeners
Is it at all possible to synchronize listeners so they hear the audio at the
exact same time? It doesn't matter if the source and listener is a few
seconds different.
Someone I know wants to send Ogg Vorbis encoded audio across a wireless LAN
using Icecast to 2 LPFM transmitters on the same frequency, and they really
need to be closely synchronized to prevent echo in an overlap coverage

XiphQT pre-release builds
Hi,
I've just built fresh binaries of XiphQT - with trunks of Xiph libs
and FLAC from the end of the last year. Code-wise there are few
changes in the components since the last release: a memory leak fixed
and the recently reported issue with iMovie'08 solved.
I'd appreciate any help testing, especially on PPC as I don't have
access to that architecture anymore. You can find the

[UART] GPS 18-5Hz LVC and COM1 silence, OK on Linux though...
Hi,
I'm having issues connecting Garmin GPS 18 to COM1 on 9.1, I get
nothing but silence. Identical setup works absolutely fine with Linux.
I've got PPS wire connected to DCD, but that seems to make no
difference on Linux, so I presume it shouldn't affect fbsd either.
On Linux, I get:
