how to control ticks in plots with yasp or xasp
Hi,
A few times I tried to control the number and position of tick marks
in plots with the yasp or xasp parameters. For example, a y axis was
drawn by default with tick marks at 0, 20, 40, 80 and 100. I tried to
get tick marks every 10 by adding
yasp=(0, 100, 10)
but this had no effect at all. I know I can draw the axis and tick
marks manually, but often this simple option would suffice

dosdevices directory
When I do a wineprefixcreate, it creates all my "drives" in the dosdevices
directory. I had a few questions about those files that it creates.
1) it creates two entries for most of my devices
For example:
e: -> /media/cdrom
e:: -> /dev/cdrom
What does the entry with the two colons (::) tell Wine?
2) Is there a particular reason that certain drive letters are used? Have

YASP (Yet another Samba Problem) and Shorewall
I''m running a Fedora Core 1 Samba server and Shorewall 2.0.1
Connections to Samba shares from both loc hosts and the fw host are
usually impossible, unless I boot the Server and connect a loc machine
to a Samba share before starting Shorewall. This requires manually
toggling the startup_disabled filename and starting Shorewall manually
after each boot.
I used the two-interface

Samba misconfig... (long)
I am trying to get my samba setup running (after putting it on the back
burner for a few months with other issues).
I am running Samba 3.0.0 on a SuSE 7.2 install. I have a linux box
(clyde) and a Win2K box (Badmonkey) connected via a firewall/network. My
smb.conf file is shown here:

Samba and W2K printer issues
I posted this query a couple of days ago and received no responses.
SInce that time, some other info has come to light that I thought would
be useful to helping to solve this porblem.
My network consists of a firewall machine networked with a SuSE 7.2
workstation and a Windows 2000 workstation. My smb.conf file is below:

calculating logit parameters (odd ratio is exactly one or zero)
Dear statistician experts,
Sorry if this is a trivial question, or the old same question (i don't know
what is the efficient key word for this issue).
In order to understand the calculation of parameter of logistic regression,
I did an exercise through spreadsheet following the procedural example
from a literature, or the available spreadsheet (with calculation formula).
I ended up with

smbmount and credentials file
I have a small LAN:
SuSE 7.2 with Samba 3.0 and a W2K box.
What I can do:
I can create shares from the W2K box that make files from the Linux box
visible. I can also manually mount (using % smbmount ... ) from the
command line as root. Here is where I run into problems. The only way I
can mount a partition via smbmount is if I use the username=user%passwd
option. If I attempt to setup a .smbpw

Printers and other stuff
Well.. okay. Only printers.
I am still having issues (pains, actually) getting my pritner shares to
work from either Linux OR Windows 2000. One of the things I see here is
that the majority of users use CUPS as the printing daemon. From my
previous Unix experieince, I have gravitated towards BSD as my printing
daemon.
Could this be the reason I am having trouble> Does Samba work better

which print tool: CUPS vs BSD?
Which printing mnechansim works best with Samba? CUPS or BSD? I suspect
that BSD support in Samba is not the greatest.

[LLVMdev] Confusion about excessive reads in the PowerPC assembly generated by LLVM
I was trying to do liveness analysis on some code and I found that almost no
variables were ever live on exit from any basic block.
Looking into the matter, I saw that values almost always get stored at then
end of a block and loaded again at the beginning of the next block. This
occurs in both the intermediate representation and also in the final
compiled code (I am using the PowerPC backend).

Best style to organize code, namespaces
Hi all,
I'm hoping someone could tell me what best practices are as far as
keeping programs organized in R. In most languages, I like to keep
things organized by writing small functions. So, suppose I want to
write a function that would require helper functions or would just be
too big to write in one piece. Below are three ways to do this:

Unable to subscribe to newly created subfolders under public mailboxes with acl plugin enabled
I've "group" namespace and b2b mailbox under it. I'm unable to
subscribe to it and deliver emails there.
Here is my problem: if I create subfolder (lets name it "subf") under
b2b mailbox I'm unable to subscribe to it until acl plugin is enabled.
Even if I put dovecot-acl file in .b2b.subf folder with anyone full
rights dovecot-acl-list doesn't get populated

Here''s the latest USB code against the xen 3.0.0 release. Since the
last posting this version updates the code to use the new 32 bit grant
references and the latest GNTTABOP_map_grant_ref definition. I''ve also
changed the definition of the virtual USB HCD to have a single port
rather than seven ports with six unused. Domains importing multiple USB
devices will get a HCD for

Newbie to Com32: libcom32.a not linking
I'll start off by saying that I'm very new to com32, but I'm having
difficulty linking the libcom32.a library into an executable. I'm using
syslinux-3.11, I copied the libcom32.a library into my directory and here's
the output of my attmept:

.//libcom32.a(entry.o)(.init+0x42): In function `_start':
