Windows User Admin Tool error
I've got a Fedora Core 2 box running Samba smbd version 3.0.7-2.FC2. I've set it up as a Domain master for a new domain. I setup a Win2K Server box and had it join the domain. I made an "administrator" user, I mapped the groups via: net groupmap modify ntgroup="Domain Admins" unixgroup=admins net groupmap modify ntgroup="Domain Users" unixgroup=users I

Why does everyone seem to dislike *now?
Greetings, Last week I began researching Asterisk for the first time. I did what most noobs would do; downloaded an image that seemed simple and straightforward and had some credibility (*now). I also downloaded the TFOT version 1 as a guide. As questions arose, I tossed a few out in #asterisckNOW channel..and found it to be a ghost town. Only later did i start to ask a few

Replace full PRI with SIP/IAX trunks...YES/NO?
I've been considering replacing a PRI with SIP or IAX trunks. The monthly cost difference is marginal, but it would save a bit on the hardware side and soft trunks would be easier to manage. I can't help but wonder what I would be giving up? I'd like to hear some "lessons learned" from those who are doing it or decided, for whatever reason, it's a bad idea.

Adding local group -> Access denied
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi there, short question: I try to add a local group via the NT-Usermanager ("usrmgr.exe"), but everytime I get a "Access denied". Adding a global group works. I'm logged on as "Administrator". I'm running Samba 3.0.14a on Debian Sarge (testing) with the smbldap-tools (v0.8.8). What could I have done wrong?

Samba 3.0.20 and UserManager
Hi all. Just tried to upgrade our test PDC server from 3.0.14a to 3.0.20, and now i've stumbled in to the following error. Using the User Manager for Domains causes a "Procedure out of range" error. Using DameWare NT Utilities causes the application to crash. Tried both in WIN2000 and XP. If I downgrade to 3.0.14a again everything is OK. Server Manager works OK in both versions.

Executing commands even if user hangs up.
Greetings, I have a dialplan that calls the dictate application, but I want to do some post-processing on the RAW file created. The post processing is working fine as long as the dictation application exits gracefully, but fails when the user simply hangs up. How can I make sure the system() command is run regardless? Example: [test-dictation] exten => 123,1,Dictate(/tmp/dictate) exten

Separating columns, and sorting by rows
Dear anyone who knows more about R than me (so everyone). I have been bashing my head on the keyboard all day trying to do something with my table. snmpd log messages
I updated to CentOS 4.5 yesterday and now I am finding the snmpd daemon is logging reams and reams of these messages: May 20 10:40:03 mx01 snmpd[2572]: Connection from - 127.0.0.1 May 20 10:40:03 mx01 snmpd[2572]: transport socket = 12 Is there a way to turn off this useless logging? I am getting these every 5 minutes (every time MRTG updates my MailScanner statistics). So far what I tried

Function for gruping similar variables?
Hi, I have a matrix of results of multiple 2x2 chi^2 tests, non- significant tests are marked as TRUE. Is there a function for grouping those variables in a similar way LSD.test from agricolae library does? I reviewed LSD.test's source but it's not helpful for me. This is my matrix: [,1] [,2] [,3] [,4] [,5] [,6] [,7] 1 TRUE FALSE TRUE TRUE TRUE FALSE TRUE 2 FALSE TRUE

Netscape profile scripts?
A while back there was a thread in which many people were discussing how to make Netscape work with roaming profiles. There was some talk about how this would require a script to modify the registry, etc. I just talked to one of the NS programmers who said that the problem would be fixed and even enhanced in a version 4.5. He didn't say whether the 4.5 code was going to be an internal or

Managing users
Hi, I'm struggling to manage users via the Nexus-tool on a Samba PDC. I am unable to add users, although I can remove them and add and remove groups. When I try to add a user, there is a message 'Procedure number out of range' or something like that (I'm translating from Dutch). I'm using the smb.conf of Samba by Example, chapter 4, from the CD. I did the validation tests
