"oh323 calling party number"
How do I get asterisk to populate the "Calling Party Number" field in an
H.323 call?
I have asterisk configured to accept a SIP call and connect it to an H.323
IVR system. The call goes through, but the caller id is put in the "Display"
field rather than the "Calling Party Number" field.

oh323 inband dtmf - Possible bug?
I'm trying to use H323 for the first time so please forgive me if I've made
a mistake here. I have downloaded and compiled the latest versions of pwlib,
openh323 and asterisk.
I have dtmfmode=inband in h323.conf, but the remote system is not hearing
the DTMF.
Running a trace reveals the following...

Has something changed with AGI recently?
I updated to the latest CVS yesterday, from a version several months old. On
one of my extensions, I have an AGI script in priority 1. Previously, the
AGI script would run and when it terminated, asterisk would move on to
priority 2 and connect the call. But now, when it terminates, it starts all
over again in a continuous loop and never gets to priority 2. Do I need to
update the priority in the

Xlite = no sound
What's the secret to getting sound through Xlite? The SIP messages all look
OK to me, but the sound isn't coming through.
It was trying to use GSM, so I searched the archive and tried:
disallow=gsm
allow=ulaw
Now it says that it's using ULAW but I still get no sound in either
direction.

Grandstream BudgeTone 100
After reading about these $75 SIP phones on this list, I purchased a couple
for evaluation. They do work with asterisk - and are good value for money,
but as somebody commented: they are not yet perfect.
I just wondered if anybody had managed to get either the message-waiting
indicator or the conference button to work?

Sip call question
There's something that I want to set up in our lab for testing purposes, but
I'm not sure how to do it.
I would like to be able to call an asterisk extension, and then enter a SIP
address using DTMF, and then have asterisk make a SIP transfer to that
address.
For example:
If I dial <extn> followed by 4444*192*168*0*10*5060 I would like to be
transferred to

How do I get caller's number in oh323 ?
We have an h.323 based IVR platform. When we make a call to it using an
h.323 phone, it can see the callers number (ANI), but when we make a call to
it via asterisk, the call goes through OK, but we don't get the number. How
can I make this work?

Internet Dial-in security questions
Hi,
My company wants to put a SIP address on their website. The idea is that
potential customers can call that address and will be forwarded to our main
switchboard.
It's fairly easy in theory because my asterisk server has a real IP address,
so any calls to
sip:<number>@asterisk-server.mycompany.com
should connect just fine (except currently it will be blocked by the
firewall). Our

Taking ownership of files on NT/2k
Hi all,
I have a 2.2.7a member server (on Debian unstable), acting as a file
server for a W2k domain (which also has some NT4 clients, ie. mixed
mode). I'm also using ACLs.
Imagine I have a file on the server with an ownership of DOMAIN+foo
(full permission - rwx). I also have a user ACL on that file of
DOMAIN+bar, also rwx. This all works fine.
I was initially running into a problem

I am running Samba 2.2.3a on Solaris 8 with NT4 and windows 2000 clients

a windows NT application installed onto the samba share. When i try to start
the application it crashes with an error complaining that it is unable to
read a file. The debug log shows the following with relation to the file

Second SAMBA Server different NETBIOS alias and shares for ClearCase
I have a SAMBA Server utilizing an LDAP backend for user authentication
and it works great unless I use ClearCase. When ClearCase is used the
compilation time for our code is slowed down to a crawl and the
ClearCase application is rendered nearly useless. As a test fix my boss
wants me to create a second SAMBA server to be used for only the
ClearCase server.
I don't know if this will work,

Use of SAMBA with Rational Clearcase
Is there anyone out there successfully using Rational Clearcase with SAMBA?
Was there any special changes you had to make to get it to work? We were
told by Rational specifically not to use SAMBA and wanted to get the other
side. TIA

Clearcase and Samba.
One of the benefits of living in Silicon Valley is the
SVLUG Linux users group. You meet the most interesting
people there :-).
I met someone from Rational software who has the ability
to contact the product manager for Clearcase. I told him about
the number of Clearcase customers who would like Rational to
support Clearcase running against a Samba fileserver (as
they've asked the Samba Team

WinBind does not work well with Rational ClearCase (bug fix atta ched :)
Hello Samba,
We tried to use samba-2.2.4-1 with Rational ClearCase and had a problem
using WinBind.
ClearCase requires the primary group id to be set to the clearcase users
group. WinBind sets the primary group to something like
DOMAIN_GROUP_RID_USERS.
I am including the patch we made to samba-2.2.4 to get things working.
I have added two new smb.conf options:

Does samba work with clearcase (unix vobs --> nt clients)?
I'm hoping this turns into another case of 'knowing it works
makes it happen.'
I am involved with a unix clearcase installation which now needs
to work with nt. We have clearcase 3.2.1 running on both
the unix and nt side. Because we have checkin/checkout
triggers hooked to some unix-side stuff, we need the unix
views to be accessible from nt.
Does anyone have direct experience

samba v2.0.3/Solaris 2.5.1/HP-UX 11.0/Rational ClearCase v3.2.1
Hi -
I'm getting timouts trying to access us1.samba.org or I'd look through the
archives first.
Anyone currently supporting any versions of Rational's
ClearCase/samba/UNIX/NT?
We are currently running samba v2.0.3 on both HP-UX 11.0 (vob server) and
Solaris 2.5.1 (view server). Rational ClearCase v3.2.1 on the two UNIX and

SAMBA-ClearCase access from multiple NT domains
Hi,
Due to a security reason, I can't set up mutual trust domains, however need to use SAMBA for multiple MS NT domains access Unix ClearCase. Please help.....
1. Can SANMA be configured to work with two domain controller (Active directory) password servers? Or just one PDC per SAMBA?
2. Can one ClearCase server authenticate users through two SANMA processes which are configured with

Samba and ClearCase
We're trying to use samba to let our PC's mount view extended pathnames used
by clearcase but they show up as empty. If anyone's used samba and Clear

thanks,

WinBind does not work well with Rational ClearCase (bugfix atta ched :)
Andrew,
Thank you for your suggestions.
The real problem is Rational Technical support. When you pay someone 100k+
they tend to look for any excuse to deem you "unsupported". If you don't have
your default group set to the clearcase user group, then technical support
will decide that thats where your problem is! I am sure you know how that
goes...
