*.ocx files only in system directory ?
I'm working on installing windows applications on a multi user gnu/linux box. The application needs some native .dll and .ocx files... Those files should not reside in wine's system directory but in the applications's directory so every user can use the application without having to copy the files to his system dir. Everything works fine for the DLLs. But it seems OCX are expected to

using native windows dlls
I still have a Win98 SE CD and license that's not used any more. Does it make sense to install this on an extra partition and use it as the basis for a wine installation? Or copy everything from that partition to fake_windows? +----------------------+ Carl Weitz cmweitz@web.de +----------------------+ ____________________________________________________ Aufnehmen, abschicken, nah

Xprint support in OpenSSH?
Hello, Does OpenSSH have any plans yet to extend the existing X11 forwarding support to include Xprint - the XOrg standard for printing? Documentation can be found at http://xprint.mozdev.org/docs/ The only change required to have Xprint support is to forward the X print server connection referenced by the XPSERVERLIST environment variable similar to the video display server referenced by the

destroyed files using shares on nfs-mounted filesystem
Hallo, we are using samba V.3.0.2a on Linux 2.4.18 Previous Versions of samba showed the same effect. The linux-box has mounted nfs-shares from solaris SunOS 5.8 This nfs-connection is a WAN-connection, that has limited bandwidth(some Megabit/second). When connection is slow, then it happened often that saving a file to this share is disturbed. Sometime it simply hangs, sometime an error

pxelinux.0 bug
Hi: I use this driver to set up my Fedora Core 1 as a PXE server. After I successfully boot up from network in my laptop, it erases my Intel PXE boot manager from my laptop's BIOS. The BIOS of my laptop has an option to choose form "boot from ethernet", but it is gone after I use this driver. Now I have to reflash my laptop's BIOS and Intel PXE boot manager ROM to make it come

ldapsam, smbpasswd and posixAccount
Hi, I have a setup with Samba (3.4) as PDC with ldapsam as backend. LDAP is managed by Samba, no external helper scripts. When I add a new user with "smbpasswd -a foo" it works fine, user is created and the openldap is populated with samba and posix attributes. Now, when I add a new user to the directory by running ldapadd against a ldif file which contains only posix related

Request: Time Stamped Dump-Files
Hi, I urgently need a feature to save the dump-files in splitted timestamped chunks or - much better - named accordingly to the stream metadata. I don?t want to use utilities like streamripper to make dumps because they act as a client and thus the "relay on-demand" feature of icecast isn't usable anymore. I only want to have a copy of the stream when somebody is actually

bzip2 directory won't build on OSF1 due to C99 code and -std1 option (PR#7257)
Full_Name: Michael Hoffman Version: 2.0.0-beta-20041001 OS: OSF1 V5.1 Submission from: (NULL) (193.62.199.8) Hello. Building R 2.0.0-beta-20041001 on OSF1 V5.1 failed because the default configure sets R_XTRA_CFLAGS to "-std1 -ieee_with_inexact." The bzip2 directory includes C99 code that requires -std1 to not be set in order to compile. This halts the overall build process.
