hangin when listing named pipes
Hi Even when you are not opening the pipe, but just listing it in cygwin, or trying to see the properties in explorer, you will have this problem: Does anybody know how to disable named pipes in samba? Or how you can kill the connection from the client side? And no, setting "nt pipe support" to no, doesn't fix the problem. /Kaj Symptom: Samba daemon hanging when trying to open

Re: [linux-lvm] lvm deadlock with 2.4.x kernel?
I think I have this one solved, I hope. I think what Andreas and I are running into are a few different assertions. One being the LVM lvm_do_pv_flush caused assertion which is related directly to invalidate_buffers() being called which then triggers refile_buffer() on a journaled buffer, which appears clean in all other ways according to the checks in refile_buffer(). The following is what

Problemas usando jri0.4-1 y R 2.7.0

ext3 and 2.4.x
Hi there, I am trying to find information about running ext3 with 2.4.x From the looks of the list it seems to be supported however I could only find a patch for 2.2.19, if it is somewhere in the 2.4.x kernel I can't find where. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you Ken

ext3 and 2.4.x-smp
I am running a RH6/7ish system on an abit bp6 with 2.4-test12 -smp running rock solid. I have a new drive that I want to use to test out a journa;ing file system on, and thus far have not been happy with reiserfs and have been waiting for ext3 on 2.4 (I had been considering xfs as an alternative but from what i've read it's a little too robust for my needs). Anyway, I guess I am

Is anyone using Ext3 on a 2.4.x kernel with software raid5? Does it work correctly? Last I checked noone had tried it yet, but that was before I went away on vacation. -- Daniel R. status of dir_index in 2.4 kernels ?
Hi, I stumbled on the dir_index option of recent ext2 implementation which would be interesting for our mailservers (running dovecot with maildir) and found out that the newer ext2progs are able to cope with it; the 2.6 kernels do also but for the 2.4 kernels I still require a patch. Is that correct? Which patch would be the correct one to apply to the current 2.4.27 kernel ? Can anybody

[LLVMdev] 2.4 Pre-release (v2)
Tanya M. Lattner dixit: >LLVMers, > >The 2.4 pre-release (v2) is available for testing: >http://llvm.org/prereleases/2.4/ Is it correct that there is no matching clang distfile? A checkout of clang r58548 does not build with the prerelease, seems to require a newer version of llvm-current. (But then, maybe it’d be best anyway if I port llvm-current to MirBSD, because it’ll be easier

moving from 2.2 to 2.4
Hello guys, I began testing ext3 w/ a 2.2.19 patched kernel several months ago. I'm now wanting to move to a new 2.4 kernel w/ ext3 and was wondering if there was any reason to create a new journal file. Also I noticed that the oldstyle journal files are named "journal.dat" and now they are named ".journal". Any suggestions for upgrading? Thanks, Nick

ext3 for 2.4
Hi Stephen, could you give us an idea, when we could expect the patch for the 2.4-series kernels? Do you have a 'roadmap' here or are you waiting here for the 'complete' kernel-API for the journaling filesystems? thanks, Joachim -- Joachim Kunze Alte Marktstrasse 16 Tel.: +49-7042-830006 D-71665 Horrheim Fax: +49-7042-830006 Germany eMail:

Is ext3 kernel nfsd friendly?
This is prompted by two issues: Neil Brown on the NFS list asking for file systems that users want to export via NFS and the problems that the other journaling filesystem reiserfs has with knfsd. As far as I understand reiserfs does not work with knfsd so a patch is needed for the fs driver to provide a callback to knfsd to allow the fs driver to do some clever tricks with inodes. Neil's
