the naming convention libvirt names a block based storage volume
Seems like different libvirt versions generate a storage volume name in different format. We would like to learn how libvirt names a storage volume under a block based storage pool. So that we may properly extract the LUN identifier out of the volume name for now and in the future. Seattle WA Asterisk Users' Group
Hey folks, I'm in Seattle for work on Thursdays and Fridays. Google doesn't know of any UGs in Seattle, so I'm offering to start one. I will talk with facilities about possibly hosting it at work, but if all else fails, we can meet at Metrix Create Space or at a bar somewhere. Let me know if you know of anyone in Seattle who might be interested in attending. I'm not certain I

ssh-import-id
Howdy, We in the Ubuntu Server world have been using a handy little shell utility for a couple of releases now, called 'ssh-import-id' [1]. Whereas ssh-copy-id _pushes_ a public key from one system to another, ssh-import-id _pulls_ a public key from a secure key server and installs it. It takes one or more userid's as command line arguments, loops over them, sequentially attempts to

yarrow unix source
Hi guys We at ZKS were also interested in yarrow under unix. However the implementation that counterpane have on their web page doesn't correspond to the paper -- it is a pretty different design. Also the windows code is hairy in the extreme -- I decided to reimplement it from scratch from the paper, rather than try to look at that windows code too much (yeuch!). And in writing from the

Best Linux for Asterisk
Hi Andy, I have had tremendous success running Asterisk on Slackware linux version 9.1. Its very quick to install and I had absolutely no problem compiling the source code for Asterisk or anything else so far. I have asterisk running on 2 servers right now that use Slackware. -James -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com

CIFS in fstab
Hi, folks, I have a difficulty using a cifs connection... O/S: Mandrake 10.0, updated kernel, at 2.6.8.1-12mdk, running Samba 3.0.7 packages. I'm trying to mount, via CIFS a share on a Windows 2003 server. I have no control over the use of smb signing, so I need to use cifs, not smbfs (the organisation as a whole has over 25000 users, using numerous servers, almost exclusively Microsoft

rcmd and directories (cwd; tmpdir) (PR#3429)
Hi, rcmd requires a temporary directory identified by the value of the environment variable "TMPDIR". Unfortunately, if the directory name has a space in it, rcmd errors out. For example, the standard temporary file "TMP" for xp is like: c:\documents and settings\r_user\local settings\temp If TMPDIR is defined via the Windows/XP "standard" way, i.e., set

Container setup?
Hi Patrick, thanks for the pointers. I tried today, and while it was easy to start my first container, I am not really happy with LXD, exactly for the reason St?phane gives in https://stgraber.org/2016/03/11/lxd-2-0-introduction-to-lxd-112/ "How does LXD relate to Docker/Rkt?"... what I really like about docker and docker-compose is, that it encourages to separate code from data and

John Terpstra Update
Hi, I'd like to apologise to those who did not attend events in Boston at which I spoke, or was present for book signings, for not doing more to create greater awareness and for poor publicity on my part. (It was never my intent to act in secret.) :) In response to requests: 1) In future I will notify this list of events I will be present at. (That may encourage other Samba-Team members to
