Position: Software Engineer - C UNIX I/O kernel ~ level File System Salary $85-110K Location: Seattle, WA 206 U.S. Citizenship is required. Do you have what it takes? 3+ Y of programming using the C language in a UNIX operating system Experience with developing, debugging, and maintaining file systems. Experience with performance analysis and tuning of I/O subsystems. Experience with cluster, distributed or SAN file systems is a plus. BS in Computer Science or equivalent. Our client~s I/O Group is looking for a Software Engineer. You will be working as a member of a small group of engineers developing the file system and I/O subsystem for a large-scale Linux based parallel computer system targeted for high-end production oriented data centers. What you will be doing: Your responsibilities will include porting, designing, implementing and correcting user and kernel ~ level file system code within a modern Linux based operating system for high performance computer systems. Although you will be part of a team, the position requires the ability to work independently to solve problems and implement solutions. You will also be designing and implementing features for a parallel file system for a large scale MPP system; designing and implementing solutions to provide fault tolerant I/O services; performance analysis and tuning of parallel file systems; analyzing and fixing problems to improve the overall system quality; in general developing a system to support high performance file system services in a scalable, fault tolerant, parallel environment. * Work independently to solve difficult problems and implement solutions. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Good written and verbal communication skills. * Work well in a cooperative development environment. * Fast-paced, schedule-driven environment. * Flexibility and willingness to adapt easily to changes.
