Hello, I have my samba share running and I can access everything just fine from my windows XP work station. However I have a problem with macromedia homesite. I can see but not open the share because homesite thinks I do not have access. I have captured the network traffic with a sniffer and it seems the path is a problem.. Dreamweaver 4 & Homesite 4.5
Hi, I'm new to Wine and I use Mandrake 7.2 distro with the default Wine. I setup up wine with WineSetupTK it works with some softwares but not with Dreamweaver and Homesite. Could anyone send or post in the newsgroup his/her wine.conf file (to have a look at it)? Dreamweaver was requiring 2 dlls that I downloaded and installed in my /winnt/system folder. problems running homesite
Hi there, I have just installed wine (release 20010305) and it looks to work good. I can run notepad without trouble, winecheck.pl has one bad and one critical result: 023. Checking device needed for DGA (option "UseDGA"): /dev/BAD (/dev/mem is not writable for you). - ADVICE: Use chmod as root to fix it ("man chmod"). 025. Checking availability of windows registry

Samba 3 problems with file read/writes
I just updated my web server box, running Debian testing, to samba v3, and am having some problems with a share. Can anyone advise me on this? I have a share called "allsrvr" which is defined in my smb.conf file as follows. Please note that security isn't an issue here. The server is connected to my home system via a VPN and all smb/cifs ports are closed to the world at the

Internal Error 2352
Hi guys I downloaded and compiled the latest Wine verson and I got the following error msg from the Windoes Installer. The installer wizard fired up properly, asked a few questions and started to copy the application out when it returned an internal error 2352. Below is from the msievent.log. My .wine/config is the standard conf except for minor adjustment to /mnt/floppy and /mnt/cdrom.

Simple websites (no DB?) with Rails??
I have been learning Rails and building small things over the last several months. Question I have that has been surprising difficult to figure out is this (I know it seems somewhat nonsensical but ignore that). I recently started getting a few requests for basic website to be built, small businesses, stores, even individual people. How would one about doing such a thing using Rails? I may not

getting closer to run homesite4.5
Thanks to Dimitry's tip I'm getting closer to run Allair's Homesite4.5 but I reached a point where I don't know how to debug the remaining problem(s). I used to get a runtime error, but with getting native stdole32.tlb this doesn't appear any more. Now I have 2 scenarios: 1.) starting with native comctl32.dll (and commctrl.dll) - the small centeres window appears (with

We map the samba share to Y:\ on the XP machine using a named account in AD, with a local

File changes not being written immediately
Our development team has been having the following issue for quite some time and I cannot isolate the problem. I saw a similar posting in the archives but there are no replies. We are running Samba 2.0.7 on a RedHat 6.2 server and we connect to the server from Windows 2000 desktops. We are editing files through a drive mapped to a share on the server. The problem is when we save the file in the

samba slow at overwriting of files
dear samba list members, I recently installed RedHat 8.0 with samba 2.2.7 (already updated, was 2.2.5 before I think, but with the same problem). now I have the problem, that overwriting of files on shares of that samba machine sometimes is extremely slow. writing new files is fast as ever. but what seems interesting to me is, that it depends on how I'm overwriting files. for example I'm

kernel oplocks (G) For UNIXs that support kernel based oplocks (currently only IRIX but hopefully also Linux and FreeBSD soon) this parameter allows the use of them to be turned on or off. Shadow passwords
Dear samba-list! I just upgraded our linux-file server from the last samba version (1.19.-something??) to the 2.0beta3 since the speed-up effect seemed worth a try. I did this over the weekend to keep our network functional workdays... But now I've seen that only me can write and read properly from the different shares. The other users (I set up user level security as before) have some
