ramdisk_size
Hey All,
I'am using pxelinux to try and boot a 200meg uncompressed (approx 50
compressed) ramdisk onto a machine with 512meg of ram. It looks as though
I'am running out of memory (attempt to access beyond end of device error).
Is there a limit on what we put for ramdisk_size? Or Is there other
limitations?
thanks

Unable to mount root fs
Hey all,
I'am able to use pxelinux to successfully boot a particular kernel and
image on various IBM PC's ex. 6287-41U and 6591-34U. However, using the same
setup (ie. dhcp, tftp, pxelinux.0, pxelinux.cfg, networkcard, bootrom,
ram memory) on an IBM 6282-73U my kernel and image decompress fine but I'am
getting a...

Hi all,
I'm setting up a diskless linux system using pxelinux. I have reached the
point where the kernel boots and init starts. However, I'am getting this

pxelinux
Hello H. Peter,
we use pxelinux to start linux on desktop pcs. Now we have a problem
with the interaction of dhcp. If the ip address is not fix, we cannot
use the ip address as name for the configfile. A better solution would
be, first to check for the mac and then for the ip address.
Is it possible?
TIA,
Tobias

smbldap-populate issues?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi guys,
I appear to have some issues with smbldap-populate, this used to work
fine but I've recently upgraded the dev box from RH8.0 to Fedora Core 1,
I assume it's related but I'm not sure exactly how...
As you can see the first ou creates work, so it must at least be binding
to the ldap server, but it seems to have a problem with the

RH 7.1 and Ctrl+Alt+Del [off topic]
I know this isn't samba problem, but I hope that You'll understand.
I have RH 7.1 installed (Kernel 2.4.2-2) and I have strange, funny but
really dangerous problem. In every moment (even when there is login screen)
in text mode when I press Ctrl+Alt+Del my machine simply shuts down.
Is there any fix for this?

How to send Ctrl-Alt-Del to my VM?
Hi,
My Windows HVM askes me to press Ctrl-Alt-Del to log in. But that keys
are captured by the host. How can I send those keys to my VM?
I am using VNCViewer, if that matters.
Thanks,
Jun

[PATCH]Cannot send special keys, such as Ctrl+Alt+Del
Here is the patch useful to send special keys that your graphical user
interface intercepts at low level, such as ctrl-alt-del in X Window.
This patch adds a command "sendkey" to deal with it in the monitor, you
can send keys to the vm. Use - to press several keys simultaneously.
Example:
sendkey ctrl-alt-f1

cannot change user password with CTRL-ALT-DEL
I've been running samba (currently 2.2.3a-13 for Debian) as a PDC with W2k
clients for over two years. The system was up and running quite well for a
long time. A couple of days ago, I installed the following MS-patches:
MS04-011
MS04-012
MS04-013
MS04-014
MS02-011
Now when users try to change their password from the w2k clients using
CTRL-ALT-DEL, a popup window appears saying:

Dear Samba team
In my lab: Windows XP/7/8 joined Samba4.1 AD DC OK!
I don't change any password policy (all are default!)
But when users logged on sucessfully, they *pressed ctrl + alt + del* in
order to change their passwords (new password included over 8 characters,
complexity...), but they failed

Réf. : samba 2.2.8a PDC LDAP CTRL+ALT+DEL password change, not chaning Unix password
Hi,
Why you sp?cifie :
smb passwd file = /etc/samba/smbpasswd
pam password change = Yes
If you use LDAP ?
It's the interaction between LDAP and these parameter which cause the
problem.

Ctrl-Alt-F? bindings broken under xen 3.0.3-142.el5_9.1 / 2.6.18-348.1.1.el5xen?
I am not sure what I did, but for some reason Ctrl-Alt-F? bindings are
broken on 64-bit xen desktop machine (but not on my laptop (32-bit, no
xen)). Both machines are (mostly) up-to-date and running CentOS 5.9.
I rarely hop to different Virtual Consoles (eg Ctrl-Alt-F1 ...
Ctrl-Alt-F7), but today I wanted to go to the main console to watch
some kernel verbage (I was checking something with

Koan --virt --nogfx ...
starts a new domU on the xen box
and starts up the RHEL5 installer
the installer attempts to configure its network interface using DHCP and
gets stuck
