And route print?
Do you have any servers on the WAN? (or is everyone connecting to the
servers THROUGH the WAN?)
Can you see the samba machines at all in network neghborhood?
What happens when you type in the UNC of a samba server manually? (i.e.
\\SAMBASERVERNAME)
I hope I can help you, and I'm trying, but I'm not a samba guru.

have a hosts allow or hosts deny line in your smb.conf. If you don't
want samba to do reverse lookups, then comment out any allow/deny hosts
lines in your smb.conf file.

DNS is confusing! (I really need some help understanding!)
OK, I am confused and DNS is the reason.
So, Comcast, 13 public IP's bound to my modem.
Each public IP has a DNS name from comcast (they assign it
automatically) like:
173.13.167.209 --> 173-13-167-209-sfba.hfc.comcastbusiness.net
I created a DNS entry at GoDaddy for 173.13.167.209 that is
'inhouse.theindiecompanyllc.com'

Windows XP pro login failures
I am trying to get Windows XP pro to join the domain. I set the NTLM
to version 1 and all the logs say that it is logging in correctly,
but XP is telling me that the domain controller can't be found or the
machine doesn't have a user account. I added the account. Also how
do I give a non-root user privs so that when windows xp asks me for a
username and password to join the domain,

samba 2.2.2 configure.in patch
For freebsd we use the attached patch for cups support. I was
wondering if it could be included in 3.0. IT doesn't apply cleanly
to samba-3.0 but I was wondering if someone could take a look.

I suspect that my problems may lie somewhere in the multiple domains /
subnetting areas, but I can't see where.
Any comments will be welcome. TIA

Hi,
Cannot spot the debian binaries for 3.0.23b - please please please as
3.0.23a has some issues regarding domain users and I'm too lazy to compile

Network is busy...
I have done a great deal of reading regarding the network is busy error,
but haven't come up with an answer for one particular problem. Here is the
situation. Two identical DGUX machines are sitting on a network. Both
machines are running Samba 1.9.10 with no problems other than performance.
Upon several recommendations about improving performance, they decided to
upgrade to 2.0.3.

RE: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #3373 - 14 msgs
Can anybody recommend a good web interface for asterisk that actually works.
I am looking for a web interface that can show how many callers are on the phone, should be able to transfer the calls and disconnect. I have tried using the flash operator but has been unsuccessful in making it work.
thanks

Network is busy
Ok, I've gone through the list archives, and there's a bunch of questions,
but no answers. I'm referring to the Error: Network is busy when logging in
from both Win95 (a and b versions) and Win98. It seems to never give this
message unless the Windoze machine has been rebooted forcefully - it seems
as if the samba server hasn't realized that the client has left, and is
locking

Here is some log output that occurs on the production during the process of
issuing a net use command from the win95 box to the samba server. The

Is there another way of doing the bindings so that the Windows share doesn't run on TCP/IP but will still work with SAMBA? If so, where in the docs should I be looking, and if not - maybe this should be something discussed by the SAMBA dev people..
Regards,
Marc.
