Library without malloc
Dear all, I am trying to use the Speex library pre-processor, I only need the VAD and Echo Canceller. I am using a STM32F103 processor, but I am using a tiny OS and it doesn't allow to use malloc. Is there a version of the library that will work without the need of using malloc? Obviously I will use all the time the same parameters, like 8kHz sampling rate, 160 frame... I will appreciate

Library without malloc
I need to set the content to 0 because actually is not using malloc(), it uses calloc() that does set the memory to 0. Library without malloc
Yanick & Jean-Marc, First of all thank you very much for taking your time to try to help me. Hi Yanick, This is what I am trying to do, but for example the function SpeexPreprocessState *speex_preprocess_state_init has lots of pointers that are initialize with static inline void *speex_alloc (int size). So I am trying to convert all this pointers into arrays but it is getting messy trying

Security issue
Hello, I am trying to convince our IT Manager that R is as safe as possible from IT security point of view - could you point me to something on the web / some reasons for why this is true? I do not think he has a specific concern but does not know the software and would like to understand the security implications. Thanks in advance Best Regards Martin Hanek Actuarial Analyst Glacier

Problem joing a W2KSP1 client to a Samba PDC (2.2.5).
Hi, I'am running a small samba server at work with 10+ users in the domain (all of them added with W2KSP1 and 2.2.3 or 2.2.4). I uppgraded to 2.2.5 a while back and has not experienced any problem with it, but when I try to add a newly installed W2KSP1 client to the domain I get the following entries in the log file: Sep 10 13:29:55 linus smbd[17681]: [2002/09/10 13:29:55, 0]

Hi. I have a factor and I want to extract just those elements that appear exactly once. How to do this? Windows XP SP2 (Official) and Samba 3
I've looked through the archives and the only information I can find regarding Windows XP SP2 is RC2. Has anyone out there had ANY experience with XP SP2 Official and a Samba 3 domain? -- Bert Rapp North Trail RV Center p 239.693.8200 f 239.693.8115

UTF8_LANG: a much better idea
I've found a much better solution; it's standard (in Unicode itself), simple and more flexible: Unicode language tagging. It was made for just this purpose, in fact. A technical description is at http://www.unicode.org/unicode/reports/tr27/#tag which, like all specs, makes it sound a bit more complicated than it really is. It comes down to this: mark the language of text with U+E0001

samba as PDC in FreeBSD
Hello all, I've set up samba as a PDC in FreeBSD 5.1-release. I seemed to have no problems joining my computer to the domain as it said "Welcome to the domain" but when I try and log in it says it can't contact the domain controller or the domain account doesn't exist. Can anyone offer any help on how to fix this? Here is my smb.conf. Kind regards, Elvar [global]

title tags -- languages
I'm not sure if this falls within the scope of tag data, somewhere else, or if there's any provision for it at all: I have a lot of songs whose native titles are in Japanese. For example, I have a song titled "螟". The filename for this song would be "02 - yume [Dream].ogg" (or even "02 - 螟 (yume) [Dream].ogg".) To automatically name this file, I'd need

vorbisfile timestamp oddity
I'm seeing some inconsistency in returned timestamps using vorbisfile. I open a file, read some data (grabbing timestamps with ov_pcm_tell), then seek back with ov_pcm_seek(vf, 0) and read it again. The seek lands back on 0, but on the second read through, there's a gap in the timestamps: they jumps up by 2112 frames. This causes my vorbisfile code to insert silence to maintain sync (as

Cisco 7940 - Disappearing Clock - SOLVED
P.S. I _had_ read the other posts that suggest changing to unicast sntp mode. This didn't help. I eventually setup a new ntp server on my LAN, and used it as a sync source. Everything seems OK now. Obviously a problem with my other ntp server. Cheers. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Cisco 7940 - Disappearing Clock Date: Thu, 28 Jul 2005 11:50:35 +1000 From: Rod Bacon
