syslinux 3.07 fails on MSI Hermes 651 boxes
When trying to boot a 2.88M syslinux 3.07 image from the boot area of a CD on
an MSI Hermes 651, it says "SYSLINUX 3.07 2005-01-12 ", then hangs forever.
On any other machine I've tried, the same CD displays my boot.msg after this
message, and then boots the kernels listed in the configs.
Any idea what's causing this, and how to fix/work around it?

[3.0.4] Problem with strange characters in file names
Hi,
I'm using samba 3.0.4, with XP clients and server-side-profiles.
Sometimes, my users save bookmarks with strange characters in them.
These files are saved flawlessly on the server, but Windows is unable to
copy them back to the local profile, and so the user can not log in.
I'm using a iso8859-15 charset.
I hope this is not a common question, I looked in the archive but I had

Ark vs. RAR files under CentOS 7
Hi,
Over the past weeks, I've configured and fine-tuned a bells-and-whistles
desktop based on CentOS 7 and KDE, which I've documented in detail on my
blog:
* https://www.microlinux.fr/poste-de-travail-entreprise-centos-7-kde/
So far I have one single thing that's not working. It's a little detail,
but I'm sure it will come bite me, since I know some of my users need

Can't find SRPMS for CentOS
Hi,
I have to rebuild a handful of CentOS packages for some extra
functionality. So I setup a build environment in a virtual machine, and
right now I'm trying to find the SRPMS. I enabled the repositories
listed in /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Sources.repo and then tried this:
[microlinux at buildbox:~] $ yumdownloader --source ark
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks, priorities

Hello,
I've installed XEN according to this tutorial: <http://www.howtoforge.com/paravirtualization-with-xen-on-centos-5.4-x86_64> http://www.howtoforge.com/paravirtualization-with-xen-on-centos-5.4-x86_64
on the first XEN boot, it freezes for a very long time on:

Problems with Samba 2.0.5a and w2k
The problem is actually very simple to describe. I manage a Linux
fileserver. Most of the clients use Win98 or NT4 and that seems to work
just fine - but w2k is an entirely different story.
What happens is that no w2k can see the shares in the linux machine an
when trying to access it w2k comes with something like "Service not
avaible - connection closed". Now the really fun part starts.

A/V sync strategies
I tried to encode some video from a DVD with encoder_example and
ffmpeg2theora, and it looked great, except that with both encoders the
A/V sync would drift noticeably after about 10 minutes, and by the end
of a two hour movie it would be a couple seconds off. So instead of just
whining about this and waiting for someone else to fix it, I decided to
try to learn about what's causing the

Win2K3 Server, in Terminal Session, Problem connecting to SAMBA server.
I have looked for several days and can not find the answer to my problem, but
I'm sure it has to be a simple issue. I'm trying to map drives inside Windows
Server 2003 Terminal Session from a local Samba server but can't get connected.
I figure the problem is in Windows Registry but can't find web page on what
needs to be changed to get this working.
I built a new Windows 2003
