How to fire up Icecast?
Thank you for posting the doco link, Jordan!
The first thing I read is that, for Windows ? it only runs on:
* Windows Vista
* Windows 7
* Windows 8.
Which is a problem ? as I am running Windows 10. ?
Are you able to confirm which of the following statements is true:
1. The doco hasn?t been updated ? it does run on W10, or
2. W10 is indeed not supported?
Thanks,
Andrew

Doco! ARGH! (smbpasswd's not up to date on the web site)
Hi all,
(again)
The page:-
http://ie.samba.org/samba/docs/man/smbpasswd.8.html
does not have any description of the '-j' option.
However:-
http://ie.samba.org/samba/ftp/docs/htmldocs/smbpasswd.8.html
does.
Why is this a big issue ? (worthof a post to the mailing list?)
because the first URL above is linked off the main 'Documentation' page
of the Samba web site

change color per the doco I have.. It works well for everything else but

create production tables? use "rake db:migrate"?
Hi,
What is the normal mechanism for creating the tables in the (a) test and
(b) production databases.
For example the following didn''t work for creating the production
tables:
a) change environment.rb to include "ENV[''RAILS_ENV''] ||= ''production''"
b) run "rake db:migrate"
However this seemed to still work against DEV not

somebody's stolen my probabilities
gday gurus,
could someone please help me with this one? Can't find it in the doco.
summary of my lm object gives "Pr(>|t|)" but coef doesn't. How do I get
hold of these probabilities within an object? There doesn't seem to be an
appropriate attribute within the object - I was hoping for something like
"my.lm$probabilies".
I was hoping to grab the best t

Really dumb question
Just got dovecot running inside MEPIS 3.3.2 SOHO (debian). I am impressed. It works really well and I am planning to move my mail away from my Win server and access the mail from dovecot using imap. I have copied some folders from my existing Outlook mail system into the imap mail server without any problems....so here is the dumb question: where are the mail files/folders stored on the MEPIS

Table naming conventions
Folks,
I am new to rails. I have tried Google searches, checked the tips and
doco and can''t find the answer to a simple question.
I have a table called "Activity" that I want to rename so I can use
RubyOnRails but I don''t know whether the plural form should be
"Activitys" or "Activities".
Can someone illuminate me on what to do?

proposed new doco for "Gluster 3.1: Installing GlusterFS on OpenSolaris"
Hi all
Reference: http://support.zresearch.com/community/documentation/index.php/Gluster_3.1:_Installing_GlusterFS_on_OpenSolaris
I have found this guide to be too brief/terse, and have endeavoured to improve it via more of a recipie/howto approach - and possibly misunderstood the intent of the brief directions in the process.
Please advise if there are any errors?

Using rpcclient to install printer drivers
Hi all,
I have just discovered docos for rpcclient in 2.2.1a, and it appears that a
solution for installing printer drivers on my Samba server may be
in-hand. I am furiously reading man rpcclient and experimenting and with
any luck, this will bear fruit. I have to date been unable to use the NT
Add Printer Wizard to upload drivers and I believe the reason is that in

Squirrelmail
I have an urgent (isn't it always the way!) need to set up webmail for one of our users.
I intalled Squirrelmail, added /etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf and
etc/httpd/conf.d/php.conf/squirrel.conf to my webserver config (which
is not RH stock) and ran the squirrelmail conf.pl
I know nothing at all about php, so am having a hell of a time diagnosing
the errors, and the squirrelmail.org site knows

WYSIWYG Editors and Rails
Hi everyone,
I''m currently investigating re-writing our School CMS application in
Rails and the only drawback I can see is there isn''t an ample supply (if
any) of WYSIWYG In-browser editors written with a raw Ruby backend. We
currently use KTML4 which is written with PHP as a base. I''m interested
to hear from anyone who''s integrated a PHP based editor into

Dragging and Dropping between lists
Hi there,
I''m creating a back end system where the user is able to click on a
category and then see two lists. One list is the list of artworks
assigned to that category. The other list is a complete list of all the
artworks that this user owns (minus those already in the category). I''m
looking for some online help that shows you how to allow those list
items to be dragged

I have a basic 2 interface system. The firewall (bastion host) has a:
1. eth0 - public address

OAUTH2 + proxying [host=??]
All,
We currently use a proxy configuration with an sql query to authenticate
and discover which backend server an address belongs to and proxy the
connection to that host to authenticate and retrieve mail. We are
looking to move to OAUTH2 for authentication and am just trying to
figure how how to get that extra host information as part of the passdb
query when using this mechanism. Looking at

create_canon_ace_lists: unable to map SID
Hi all,
I'm trying to get a Samba server (which is a member of a Samba
controlled domain) to store WinXP Pro user's profiles. The XP user
is authenticating against a 2003 Active Directory server, which then tells
it to store it's profile on my Samba server.
The 'profiles' share exists and is writeable and under some circumstances
we can get profiles to be stored there,

Samba4 gid-to-sid question
Hi.
We used info from a SID created using samba-tool group add to posix-ify
it and then add a posix-ifed domain user to it. The AD doco defines two
sorts of SID. Ones that change, and ones that don't.
Here is a search on our posix-ified group:
ldbsearch --url=/usr/local/samba/private/idmap.ldb 'xidnumber=3000012'
objectSid: S-1-5-21-980186919-4150830324-975011627-1121

Problem Two: Icecast Won't Relay...
That fixed it!
The importance of the beginning "/" should probably be emphasized in
the doco, especially since the sample config
says: <local-mount>different.ogg<local-mount>
....could be a little misleading. Also need the closing slash in the
sample XML flags.
