access samba 3.0 shares from Win2K, Win3K, WinXPProf. using netbios name
Hi: I have a Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Ed. as Domain controller, an its current domain functional level is 'Windows Server 2003'. Also, I have a RedHat Linux 7.3 server with SaMBa (tested with rpm samba-3.0.0-2, and compiling the samba source code). I'd joined the linux server to the AD tree without problems, access from it to the Win2003 shared resources too, but I have

VoiceMailMain dumps user back into my incoming context after leaving a message
I have a dial plan that includes a company phone directory as a main menu option. If they just sit at the main menu, after 20 seconds, they are transferred to the operator. If the user picks an extension from the directory, they are transferred to the proper extension. If the called number is not available, they are transferred into VoiceMailMain. They leave a message, and hang up. The hang

Quasi-success
Hello all. I'd like to report near success with two games I've tested today. I used the latest wine (20040408). 1?) Arcanum ----------- I installed with wine; when I was prompted for the 2nd CD, I couldn't umount the first; so I cancelled the installation (as far as I remember the files were not erased; if they were I must have copied them somewhere before); then I copied the files

INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11 in pid 5457 (3.0.0beta3)
By logging into a smbd server with the username "HAENGINEERS\KMR", we are able to cause a smbd panic every time. Other usernames ("HAENGINEERS\_TestME") work. The stack trace is below, full logs and smb.conf are available on request (don't want to saturate the list.) I can't post to bugzilla as I can't register a new account as my incoming mail is crippled by

Problems compiling samba-3.0.0beta3 on Solaris 8 with ldap
I'm really desperate for some quick help in getting the samba-3.0.0beta3 compiled with ldap on Solaris 8. no charset ver. 3.0.0beta3 on solaris
Hi all This question came up several times in this list in the last couple of weeks, but nobody seems to have found a solution... so I post this again, hoping that anybody out there has the answer. I compiled Samba 3.0.0beta3 on Solaris 9 with the following options: --with-winbind --with-acl-support --with-included-popt --with-pam Starting the daemon or doing testparm gives me always: Error

[LLVMdev] [lld] LLD's software architecture
Hi, I'm analysing the LLD code structure (aka architecture) and am trying to mold it into a component model. Currently I see 4 components: - Driver - ReaderWriter - Passes - Core I wonder if this is the order that they're supposed to be in, since there are also code dependencies upwards from: Core -> ReaderWriter Passes -> ReaderWriter ReaderWriter -> Driver For a

Visual C++ fails to recognize changed file
We're having a problem that is the reverse of prblems that others have had: if we have a file open in Visual C++, and change it from another editor (either on the PC or on Unix), Visual C++ does not notice that it has been changed and ignores the file when it does a make. If the file is on a local drive, everything works fine. We're running Samba version 2.0.4b on Solaris 2.6 and Visual

%o passwd chat parameter - Samba-3.0.0beta3 - bug?
The %o passwd chat parameter (current password) doesn't seem to be working in this release. I'm running a Redhat 9 system that seems to require it. Changing the %o to the current password allows everything to work so I'm pretty sure it is something related to that parameter. Is this a bug or am I just reading the log wrong? from smb.conf: unix password sync = Yes passwd program

Call Pickup problem in Asterisk with SIP phones
I'm having a tough time getting call pickup to work on *. Here's my configuration: X100P with T-1, channels 1-4 voice <---> * <---CISCO 7960 with SIP 6.0 Image A call comes in, and * picks up and presents a menu. Caller chooses extension, (in this case ext 103, SIP/wsmith) Wsmith is sitting in my office, hears his phone ringing, picks up my phone, gets dial tone, and presses

Samba 3.0.0beta3: Problem looking up SID of root
Hi all, I have just installed Samba 3.0.0 beta 3 on RH9, after uninstalling beta 2 (but keeping the smb.conf file the same). I am having a problem with resolving the SID of root. I have "admin users = Administrator" set on the single share I have set up so that Administrator performs as root. Looking at a directory created in the share by Administrator on the Windows client, which on

Partial Authentication in OpenSSH
Hi, Pardon me if this has been discussed recently, I'm new to the list. I am interested in partial authentication in OpenSSH. I have modified Maciej Bogucki's patch that was based on a patch by Carson Gaspar for a pre-privilege separation version of SSH. My modifications have resulted in a basically working partial authentication system, but my patch is quite a hack. As I have not

[PATCH 4/4] daemon: add split_lines_sb
Mold split_lines_sb from split_lines, so it returns the strings buffer with the result of the split. This way, we can have the number of lines in the array, with no need to count them again later. split_lines is rewritten to take the ownership of the result of split_lines_sb. --- daemon/daemon.h | 1 + daemon/guestfsd.c | 37 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++--------- 2 files changed, 29
