[LLVMdev] Announcing Leaf v0
I'm proud to announce Leaf <http://leaflang.org/>, a soon to be great new programming language. I've been working over a year on it now, though it's nowhere near completion. Consider this a pre-alpha prototype stage announcement. ;) A lot of my progress is due entirely to LLVM. So while Leaf has a host of features <http://leaflang.org/features/index.html>, I'd like to

FS corruption under ext3
Hi-- We've been observing some consistent filesystem corruption under ext3. The problem is that a directory created by one of our applications vanishes for some reason. The directory is created on installation the application. The files it contains are written infrequently (days to months) and read as part of every user command. The directory is under /etc and always has the same path.

Beginner: Homogenity of Variances
Hello, for my meta-analysis I try to test if two varainces are equal without using the raw scores. I have is the SD's, N's and the Means. I want to test the variances from dependent and independend samples. I assume I can use the var.test procedure for the independent samples, but what about the dependent samples ? Has anyone an idea how to realise this with R ? Thanks in advance

Quota / OpLock file truncation again
I am seeing a potentially serious bug with samba 3.0.22 on Linux (Ubuntu Dapper Drake). I found the following old discussions about the same problem: http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2004-September/037328.html and http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2003-July/071081.html as well as this old closed bug in bugzilla: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=679 I

how to convert ext3 to ext2
Hi, I am using RH 7.2 Enigma and with ext3 filesystem. Before installing RH Linux, I used Partition Magic 7 in Windows to prepare partition ext2 for Linux which was then converted to ext3 when installing RH 7.2. Now that I want to expand the space for the Linux partition, I find out that PM 7 does not support and recognize ext3 filesystem. My questions then are: 1. How do I convert ext3 to

ices compile problems (was: libshout compile problems)
Hi: I've not had any problems compiling libshout and ices2 on my debian woody system with the default autotools (I think they're automake 1.4p4 and autoconf 2.53 if memory serves). I use libogg and libvorbis 1.0 though, not current CVS. I do use libshout and ices2 cvs though. If auto* tools turn out to be a suspect, you can get packages right up to automake 1.7 under woody.
