Samba4 trust between AD and NT domains
dear experts, is it possible to set a interdomain trust between an AD domain (samba-4.7.4) and an NT4 domain (samba-4.7.4 again)? My naive experiments have failed so far. If AD trusts NT: "samba-tool domains trust" cmd on AD controller seems to look for another AD domain: can't contact NT domain. Did I overlook some configuration switch? If NT trusts AD: I can not create a

SAMBA-ClearCase access from multiple NT domains
Hi, Due to a security reason, I can't set up mutual trust domains, however need to use SAMBA for multiple MS NT domains access Unix ClearCase. Please help..... 1. Can SANMA be configured to work with two domain controller (Active directory) password servers? Or just one PDC per SAMBA? 2. Can one ClearCase server authenticate users through two SANMA processes which are configured with

Multiple domains, one PDC
I know this has to be frequently asked, but I haven't found enough info to strike out on my own and do it right myself. I'm somewhat rusty in regards to Samba. I haven't used the server since 1999 or so. I want to use a single server to be PDC for several NT/2000 type domains. Can this be done effectively, and, if so, what is the *right* way to proceed. Bear in mind that I'm

shell login with multiple domains via trusts
It's been a long journey, bear with me. we have multiple domains, that have interdomain trusts in separate forests. I can successfully authenticate via "wbinfo -A A\\userA" and "wbinfo -A B\\userB"; same with -K. The host is joined do AD "A". UserA can authenticate successfully and get a shell. However I desire B\\UserB to also be able to login as well.

Can a Samba server join multiple NT domain?
Hi, Say if there are DomainX and DomainY, both are not in trusted relationship. Can a Samba server join both DomainX and DomainY? I can't find any related information on Internet. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks! Yimin

Setting up a "secure" AMI?
Hi All, I've just upgraded our CRM and it has an Asterisk Integration Module that I would like to test out. The CRM is running on one of our hosted servers in the cloud. The Asterisk server is running in my office. I am running Asterisk 1.4.21.2~dfsg-1ubuntu3. Reading the page http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20config%20manager.conf got me a little concerned

Creating variable names
My apologies for asking what is doubtless a dumb question, but I have scant experience in R. It would be very convenient in doing lots of plots to be able to do them in a loop that stepped through a vector of variable names. For example one could say x<-("mydates") y<-c("foo1","foo2","foo3") #where "foon" were vectors

Multiple domains served by a single LDAP tree
Good {morning, afternoon, evening} everybody, A while ago I wrote to the list asking about whether the uidNumber/gidNumber of the "commonly-known SIDs" had to match the RID of the SID; the answer was "no". I asked because I intended to implement multiple NT4/Samba domains using a single LDAP tree; each Samba PDC/BDC instance would only use the relevant subset of the tree.

[LLVMdev] Internal Compiler Error
Hi all, In the last few days, some change introduced an internal compiler error. On my G4 (PPC), I'm getting this: $ cat testcase.i struct A {}; struct B { struct A c[0]; }; extern const struct B *pB; void bork(void) { const struct A *pA = pB->c; } $ /Users/wendling/llvm/llvm-gcc-4.2.obj/./gcc/xgcc -B/Users/wendling/ llvm/llvm-gcc-4.2.obj/./gcc/ -B/Users/wendling/llvm/llvm-

0.11.4 tidings
I''ve tried 0.11.4, and it has not yet crashed, even after I removed (most of) the workarounds. However, the same is also true of 0.11.3... I haven''t seen any of these crashes for several days, which is a very good thing. I can''t remember all the workarounds I did to sidestep the crashing; some of them I don''t want to reverse because they actually were also

Actionwebservice as a SOAP client to .NET services.
I have read the (scant) documentation on the datanoise actionwebservice gems and can''t figure out how you are supposed to structure the SOAP client. Has anybody ever used actionwebservice as a client? If so could somebody please put a sample someplace? Thanks. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google

[LLVMdev] AMD64
Unfortunately, no. There is a scant beginning for x86_64 support, an initial (read slow) implementation of IA64, but nothing for AMD 64. I'm told that adding AMD 64 support could be done in 2-3 months (for someone familiar with LLVM Targets) if someone were to attempt it. Reid. Buzzword bingo: TLS and SRTP
One of my clients today asked me about TLS support for encryption of SIP payloads, and I didn't have an adequate answer as to why it wasn't supported or even discussed. Some archive searching finds scant mention of this in reference to Asterisk. Of course, encrypting the SIP payload is only 1/2 the problem; the payload itself is the next problem. I understand that IAX solves these

Using dsync for a single mailbox?
Is it possble to use `doveadm sync` to migrate a single mailbox? I'm migrating accounts from another IMAP server, and most of the mailboxes are in mbox or maildir format, but a few are in MBX. As far as I can tell the only recommended way to "convert" an MBX mailbox is to sync it via imap. But dsync fails in inscrutable ways, and the documentation is kind of scant on how to control

thoughts on tripp lite Smart Online UPSs?
We're looking at replacing some old APC SmartUPS 5000s with something that has USB so NUT can more easily talk with it (and yes, I've tried USB-RS232 adapters and every one I tried started kicking out errors within a few hours). One of the bids we have is for a "Tripp Lite UPS Smart Online 5000VA 4500W Rackmount 5kVA 200V/240V" as the potential replacement unit. I have no

NT-Domain - Can I use LDAP?
We are using Samba4 in NT mode. We have an application that can pull usernames - great! What we need as well though is to import other fields saved in Samba for the users. For example, Email Address, and Full Name. Is it possible, without causing interruption to service, to connect with an LDAP query string to get this information, if it is not already setup for LDAP? I am running on Debian

samba4 in AD with multiple domains
From the FAQ: Q: Does Samba support trust relationship with AD? A: Trusts are currently not finished implemented. Samba can be trusted, but can't trust yet. Does this mean that in a single-forest multiple-domain AD environment, samba will only know about accounts in it's own domain? Or does this statement apply to forest-forest trusts?
