Asterisk RPMS for RH9 + RH7.3
Hello all, It's my birthday today, so as my present I would like everyone possible to download and test my updated set of RPMS for Asterisk 0.7.1. By popular request, I installed and built a set of RPMS for RedHat 9.0, and in the process fixed a bunch of issues from the initial build. I have also updated and will be maintaining a page on the Asterisk Wiki located at:

While you are at it, you could also download and check fully worked examples network configurations that are

Data loss
Hello everybody, it happened with my RH73 that the same partition (ext3 fs, of course) was mounted onto two different mount points ( "/" and "/mnt/removable" respectively) and a copy of files from one path to another (e.g. "cp /opt/myfile /mnt/removable/opt) reveiled to be an overwriting procedure. Now I have 0 byte size files on /mnt/removable (aka "/")

increased core dumps with v2.2.7
Hi, After upgrading to v2.2.7 yesterday, I am starting to get a larger number of bugs occurring -- unfortunately I hadn't configured things to save core dumps (now done). But I am seeing things like: dovecot: imap(user at example.com): Fatal: master: service(imap): child 27931 killed with signal 11 (core dumped) kernel: [151706.763475] imap[4878]: segfault at 7fff53b0aff8 ip

Logon Script Doesn't
Hi, I've finally been dragged kicking and screaming into the wonderful world of XP. I've been able to join a domain and login with the help of the docs on samba.org and gleaning info from this list. Google and I don't get along. My question is How do I get the logon script to run when XP logs in? Win 98 doesn't have a problem running the logon script. Here is part of the

Kernel drive_cmd error messages
Hi I realise this isn't strictly ext3 related, but I'm trying to find the meanings to some error messages that have started appearing in /var/log/messages on a RH73 system after a recent kernel upgrade (from 2.4.18-19.7 to 2.4.18-27.7). The kernel itself hasn't been modified, and is the stock RH release. The error messages in question are: Mar 19 23:21:26 spike kernel: hda:

Where do my RPMs actually go, and is it different for Red Hat builds?
I'm trying to install themes for KDE. In doing so, I came across the following web site which seems to have the themes I want as RPMs: http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/17/dept/3/idg/User+Interface_Desktop The theme I want is called "Thinkeramik", and it has the following versions, for various Red Hat builds: thinkeramik-3.2.1-1.0.el3.kde.i386.rpm RedHat EL 3

Asterisk 0.7.1 RPMS Updated to Rel 4
Neo: What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets? Morpheus: No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to. There have been over 500 downloads of the RedHat Asterisk RPMS since they were released 2 weeks ago, and I have received many comments to improve them. After some late night hacking this weekend, I have dropped 0.7.1 release 4 RPMS at

Possible PDC security hole re/machine accounts
Hey all! I was fiddling with some LDAP stuff for fun's sake, and I ran into this strange situation. The situation occurred with both my stock Samba and my modifications applied. I had a Win2000 Advanced Server machine already joined into the domain and working perfectly with PDC logons through the Samba server (v2.2.7, LDAP-SAM backend, OpenLDAP 2.0.25). While testing if the searches were

Hi all, I have a samba 2.2.8a install runing on a debian woody. The samba is working fine and I am able to map shared drives. I want to use a Primary Domain Controller to authenticate users. I have included the necessary options in smb.conf, # separate domain and username with '+', like DOMAIN+username winbind separator = + # use uids from 10000 to 20000 for domain users winbind uid

Possible PDC security hole r
Diego, When a NT-class or any Win9X based machine is not officially part of a domain, they can still utilize the domain resources as long as there is a user account that has permission to utilize the domain. When not part of the domain, the client machine will treat the domain as a workgroup and EVERY client request will go through the validation process. When connected to the
