Error Message
I noticed this error message within some of my users log files;
rpc_server/srv_samr_nt.c:_samr_query_aliasmem(2626) _samr_query_aliasmem:
Not yet implemented.
Why does this mean and what do I need to do to stop this error message from
appearing.
BTW, the users all have XP machines.

Huge amount of used inode handlers
Hi all,
Any ideas, why is this happening or how to debug this? After random time
(usually one to three days uptime) inode-sz reported by sar jumps way up its
normal level and <24 hours after this bug has happened server will crash.
Server used to work fine, but started to do this around beginning of June.

ClamAV "clamscan" command using huge amount of RAM
We have a perl cgi script that accepts uploaded files and runs
clamscan on them. While observing the system performance I noticed
that each clamscan process consumes up to 250MB of RAM. Is this
normal for ClamAV? This seems like an enormous amount of RAM, for
simply scanning one file for viruses.

Using lmer with huge amount of data
Based on the examples I've seen in using statistical analysis
packages such as lmer, it seems that people usually tabulate all the
input data into one file with the first line indicating the variable
names (or labels), and then read the file inside R. However, in my
case I can't do that because of the huge amount of imaging data.
Suppose I have a one-way within-subject ANCOVA with

Samba 2.2.5-10 and Win XP SP1
Hi all,
This is my first try on Samba as a PDC.
I have managed to setup Samba as a PDC for my home network. The Win98 pc
connects and validates no probs, but not the Win XP pc.
The acc on the linux system has been created and is fine as well as the
samba passwd's. The XP pc is 'changed' onto the domain with no errors,
with the user name that will be used by the user to log on the

Huge amount of used inode handlers reported by sar -v (inode-sz)
Any help with this problem would be very much appreciated (even "it's not
7.3 or ext3 pointers, look somewhere else").
I've seen a similar post to ext3-users, but since that one received no reply
and I'm not convinced it's a ext3 problem (it only appears on our 7.3 hosts)
, I'm CCing to the valhalla list.
We have the same problem on ALL our Redhat 7.3 machines

I have replaced the actual domain name and the name of the PDC with words

I removed, waited, and then re-added my linux server to our domain from the
server manager on our PDC.
When I then run smbpasswd -j DOMAIN_NAME -r

fsck.ocfs2 using huge amount of memory?
We are setting up 2 new EL5 U4 machines to replace our current database servers running our demo environment. We use 3Par SANs and their snap clone options. The current production system we snap clone from is EL4 U5 with ocfs2 1.2.9, the new servers have ocfs2 1.4.3 installed. Part of the refresh process is to run fsck.ocfs2 on the volume to recover, but right now as I am trying to run it on our

Ever increasing time offset for HVM domain / Huge amounts of drift
Hi,
I am currently running Xen 4.2.1 (this has also happened in 4.2.0 as well). We have been having a major problem with sometimes huge amounts of clock drift in Windows VMs. Sometimes the clock on a VM could suddenly jump by over a week (usually forwards, however time has been known to go backwards as well).
Now I don''t profess to know the internals of Xen, however through my

What happened to this list?
Hello.
I have been having some major troubles lately with samba and winbind. The
last 5 posts I made, no one has responded. I did some looking around, and in
the last several months it seems that very few people are getting any
assistance at all on this list at all.
Why is that? I haven't needed this list in years, but it used to be very
different.
Is there another place a person can

desparate for help DEV LITE KIT
Has anyone had any luck with the DEV LITE KIT?
I'm getting very erradic behavior.
I'll start it up and it will answer maybe one or two calls then hang
leaving
my phone in an off hook state or giving a loud shrill tone.
It keeps saying "Red Alarm". Once it hangs it will not answer the phone
again until I reboot.

mongrel limiting amount of connections ?
Hi!
I''ve been using Mongrel in a Rails setup with HAProxy as a loadbalancer.
I used to use Pound, but HAProxy is much more performant and has the
very nice option to limit the amount of requests sent to the backend
servers/processes. In practice, this means that a new incoming request
will not be sent to a Mongrel that''s already busy processing a request.
There''s

Amount of classes and efficiency
I was doing a test on adding a lot of leafs and filters, I create 100,000 filters
with about 25,000 leafs, it has taken over 30minutes to add all the rules. Does any
one have any info on the Maxium or so number or rules a box should have to remain
operational and also able to install the rules? This was on an AMD 700 athlon.

Controlling Amount of Memory Available
Hi,
I've got a program that I'd like to run under WINE. I've used it under Windows for years but, after adding extra RAM to my PC, it insists there now isn't enough memory for it to run.
Is there a way of specifying how much memory is available (e.g. 512MB, rather than the 2GB the PC has) in the hope that it will run correctly again?
Many thanks,
Graham

Quotas: Win95 shows the wrong amount of free space
Hi!
We are running a Win95/Samba network at our school. The server is a Digital Venturis 575e running RedHat Linux 5.0 and Samba 1.9.18p7. The clients are Win95 machines.
I have turned on user quotas for some users. On the Linux side, this works fine, but the Win95 client still thinks that it can use all available space on the server HD. That causes strange error messages for instance in Outlook
