Is it possible to restrict the account with UID 0 so that it can join
the domain but cannot be used for an interactive logon/session ? (I'm
wanting something like the "Unable to log you on because of an account

Roaming user profile
Hi all:
If I enable domain logon,
my client (Englisht win2000server and Traditional Chinese winxp Pro.)
will always save profile to the samba server.
How can I disable saving the user profile to the samba server
if domain login is enabled?
Even when I disable the logon path and [profiles] service in smb.conf
,the profile will also saved to user's home directory also.

Suggestions??: Got too many (2) domain info entries for domain
HI there,
I'm franging around trying to put (open)LDAP at the centre of my universe, which works with imap/pop and sendmail, but samba is a different kettle of fish...
after much testing I finally get bogged down at:
"Got too many (2) domain info entries for domain" in the logs, and nothign progresses after that.
And "yes" the ldap root bind password is set, iptables

*KeyFile = does not work
I am in the process of upgrading a client's server hardware and o/s, and
thought while I was at it I would move them to the latest rev of tinc
(ie. pre7; I think they are currently on pre3). When I first set the
tinc daemon up I couldn't get the *KeyFile = <abs-path-to-key> directive
to work as stated in the "manual" on tinc.nl.org, but at that time a lot

WinXP Pro domain join OK -- add domain users to local groups NOT
Good day everyone and sorry to add to the traffic with one more
(possibly stupid) question.
I have the following problem which I could reproduce with both Samba
2.2.7 and 2.2.8 and with about 5 clients. I install WindowxXP Pro
(w/SP1), I modify "RequireSignOrSeal=0", I join the domain (using a
'root' account that is present in smbpasswd and whose password I know)

Custom Mail Directory for some users
Hi list,
I'm new on this mailing list and I'm kind of stucked at the moment.
I managed to get Postfix and Dovecot working together with Amavis,
OpenLDAP und SASL on Ubuntu Linux Release "Dapper Drake". The Dovecot
version shipped with Dapper is 1.0-beta3 (at least, that's what the
package database tells me), I also tried this with a Debian Backport of
version 1.0-rc15.

I have compiled samba with --with-pam_smbpasswd and install
the file pam_smbpass.so to /lib/security.
I have looked into the samba's source directory:
source/pam_smbpass/samples, their is a directory named
"password-sync". How can I use this file to sync password from

Updating Rcpp package when it is claimed by dplyr
Your last statement is extremely unlikely to be true. The dplyr package should not be present in a vanilla environment, so there should be no such conflict.
