Slow logoff with roaming profiles (Answers!)
I've found that with roaming profiles enabled, some users experience extremely slow logoffs when using NT/XP/2000. I've discovered that this is usually due to very large email folders in the user's profile. OUTLOOK: As Outlook saves ALL messages in a single .pst file, any activity in Outlook will result in the .pst file being changed and therefore needing to be synchronized with the

slow logon (and logoff) to Samba PDC
One of my Win2000 clients takes about 5 minutes to logon (and logoff) my Samba PDC. Other Win2000 clients are fine so this may not be samba related but wanted to ask anyhow. I have turned off the "enable offline folders" on the Win2000 machine so their is no synchronization stuff going on. What else should I do ???

I need to log user logon and logoff
I need to log to a separated file just user/computer logon and logoff. I would like not to use log level > 2 to do this. I have tried using vfs_full_audit but it works well into shares definitions. I don't care if the user access a shared directory, I just need to record user login and logoff. Thanks

Roaming Profiles for Domain USERS not saved with XP Client.
Okay, I don't have much hair left and I am ready to pull it out. I am running samba 2.2.7a as a PDC for Windows XP clients. Everything works fine for DOMAIN users who are in the administrators group on the XP workstation. My problem is if users are in the Power Users or Users group on the XP client, then when the log out changes to their profiles are not saved back to the server. I know

Joining WinXp to Samba PDC
After trying to get WinXP (Pro) to try and find my domain so I can log on I've finally done it, but now when I try and join my WinXP client to the domain, windows asks me to enter the username and password of an account with permission to join the domain. Now which account would this be?? root doesn't work, neither do my other samba users. Do I have to create another user or something?

LDAP Filter Problem
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this one. I am having trouble getting LDAP and samba working properly on my Debian Woody box. I am using OpenLDAP 2.0.27-3 and the unsable packaged Samba version 2.999+3.0 and am using the samba.schema for my LDAP database. Whenever I try to join the network using either W2K or smbclient the LDAP debug log shows that the following filter is being

Samba 3.0 + AD + OpenLDAP
Hi everyone! I've already deployed samba-2.2.7a-2 and enabled openLDAP support. I now have a machine configured as a domain controller authenticating all windows users via openLDAP. openLDAP is also authenticating all of our linux users. I would like to install Exchange2000 on a windows2000 machine so our windows users can do calendaring (sendmail already handles all of our email needs).

Efficient way to login/logoff users
Hi there, I have a network running win9x/2000 machines, connected to a samba server with ldap autentication. I wanna know if there's way to receive information about login(principally logoff) in a fast way.. The WIN machines take a long time to send the logoff message (about 2-3min). I was thinking in running a program every time the users login and logoff, this program could send a

Cisco 79xx logon/logoff
Hi All, I'd like to know if anyone has figured out a way to be able to have users logon/logoff manually from Cisco 79xx phones (with SIP firmware loaded)? Scenario is, user walks into office, sits at a random desk, and logs onto the phone. The system would need to "log them off" of the last hardphone they were on, and then configure the new phone for their extension. We're

Slow logoff
I am running Samba 2.2.8a. My XP and 2000 boxes take a long time to log off. They appear to be saving profiles. The Windows 98 and XP/2000 workgroup boxes log off quick as a bunny. It the slow log off because XP/2000 domain members must push all their settings to the Samba server or is there a problem with my Samba installations? I have three discrete Samba networks that all exhibit the same

agent logoff
I am using AgentCallbacklogin to logon agents. I am trying to avoid agents being logged in more than once in different extensions (is this a bug?) by passing the callerid to the AgentCallbacklogin funtcion as an option. The problem is that by doing this, agents are not asked for an extension and they cannot logoff (by pressing the #). Any ideas how can agents logoff? -------------- next part
