dir() and RegEx and gsub()
Dear R-Users,
I have two questions:
a)
in a directory there are 3 files:
[1] "Data.~csv" "Kopie von Data.~csv" "VorlageTradefile.csv"
The command "dir( fold, pattern = "\.csv" )" gives back *all* the 3 files
With dir( fold, pattern = "\\.csv" ) I get back only VorlageTradefile.csv.
I don't understand this behaviour,

Recomended Virtual Host setup
Hello,
I want to ditch cPanel I currently have on my server, so I'm thinking of the
way to implement virtual hosts with software provided by CentOS/RadHat. I know
I can use additional repos to get mod_fastcgi for example, but what is the
method recommended by RadHat? I want every virtual host php process to run as owner
of that php file. I see that mod_suphp and mod_fastcgi are available on

Newbie question - struggling with boxplots
Hopefully I will not be flamed for this on the list, but I am starting out
with R and having some trouble with combining plots.
I am playing with the famous iris dataset (checking out example dataset in R
while reading through Introduction to datamining)
What I would like to do is create three graphs (combined boxplots) besides
each other for each of the three species (Setosa, Versicolour and

R & DataMining
Dear R-user,
I wish to know if someone is using R as concern
Datamining or KDD (Knowledge Discovery in Database)
and if already exists a R package specialized in this
kind of analysis.
I found this contributes on the R web site:

OFFTOPIC: SPARK Y H2O
Buenas erreros!!

Lighttpd/rails deployment error
I have been trying to get Lighttpd working.... we have been using
webrick, but want to move to a production quality web server. I
followed the instructions found here :
http://brainspl.at/pages/rails_stack
We are developing on windows and deploying to Fedora Linux. We''re using
rails 1.0. The build actually happens on the windows box and using ant
transfers the code to the Linux box.

ssh-add
I?m trying to have ssh-agent started for a particular user on the Solaris 8
server when the server boots up, so that I could run some SCPs from cron and
use publickey authentication with encrypted key. With OpenSSH version 3.8p1
ssh-add takes the pass-phrase from standard input, so I can automate
ssh-agent startup, but with the slightly older versions of OpenSSH this does
not work. Is this a

Scrambled Jobnames when Printing
Dear Samba!
I use a perl script to move print jobs around for users, and there is a custom
printer interface to pick up the jobs. Windows clients print to the samba
printer, which basically moves the job to another share to be picked up by the
print server client, depending on the users \\Machine Name. A sample from the
conf file:

Here is the link

What do you think?
Kind regards
