NetBIOS over TCP/IP versus direct hosting over TCP/IP
>From Microsoft web site (Windows 2000 Resource Kit): "Windows 2000 uses NetBIOS over TCP/IP to communicate with prior versions of Windows NT and other clients, such as Windows 95. However, the Windows 2000 redirector and server components now support direct hosting for communicating with other computers running Windows 2000. With direct hosting, NetBIOS is not used for name resolution.

very low speed local network browsing from win xp clients
Hi Everyone there! We have a very annoying problem since several months when browsing the local network (workgroup) from win xp clients (from win98 clients it's almost OK). The machines in the workgroup appearing very slooow (about 15-20 sec), and this value doesn't change even in the 2nd or 3rd browse. We have 1 linux (debian 2.4.21 pre 3) pc, running the samba (2.2312) server, about 15

Win XP 'Network path was not found' Error when connecting to Samba share
I am running a network with 2 XP boxes and 1 RH8.0 box running Samba 2.2.8a (bin pkg). I have also tried Samba 2.2.5 (the included distro ver.) and Samba 3 (not in depth though). I have added my WinXP username/passwd to smbpasswd and to the Linux User list. I've tried encrypt passwords and have even tried playing with the 'gpedit.msc' in Win XP to turn off encryption to 3rd party

[LLVMdev] Add a new llvm intrinsic?
Hi Jeff, It’s not really meaningful to talk about threads being created in the context of an OpenCL kernel. The other threads are always present. void kernel(int * restrict array, int * restrict array2) { int value = array[0] + get_thread_id() + 1; barrier(); array[get_thread_id()] = value; barrier(); array2[get_thread_id()] = array[0]; } In this example code, the kernel is well

In extentions.conf exten => 5,1,Answer exten => 5,2,MusicOnHold(default) When I dial 5 from the sip phone -- Executing Answer("SIP/mlh-2e75", "") in new stack -- Executing MusicOnHold("SIP/mlh-2e75", "default") in new stack

UNICAST cross-subnet browsing, Port 445 vs. 139, and Win2k
I have been having a heck of a time getting cross subnet browsing to work properly. After MANY hours hunting through source and debug logs, I have FINALLY found the source of my browsing issues. My Samba nmdb properly becomes the LMB for my segment on a WAN. I VPN to my servers at the home office and Samba attempts to sync with the DMB. nmbd properly locates the DMB via WINS over the

[LLVMdev] Add a new llvm intrinsic?
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I don't know if anything came out of this, since Xiaoyi never wrote back. What does some of the affected code look like? My opinion is still that 'restrict' should mean that no other thread should use a pointer aliasing the restrict pointer, although if many threads are started after the lifetime of the restrict pointer starts, and they

[LLVMdev] Add a new llvm intrinsic?
Hi Jeff, Do you know if anything came of this? I understand we may need to seek clarification to get a formal answer, particularly with respect to C, but it seems pretty clear to me that this is a significant QoI issue, both for C and CL. LLVM is effectively hoisting a load above a thread-join. This may or may not technically allowed in C, but it seems generally undesirable, and it’s extremely

win XP off_line
Hi I have a linux server Redhat 7.3 running samba. There are 10 XP machines on the network with a mapped samba drive. My problem is one of the XP machines on the network, has its mapped drive which goes off line periodically. It seems to be random. I am wondering what could be the cause of the problem??? This is a fairly new setup and all machines are setup identically. Any suggestions would be

SIP/ Grandstream Issues
I just got a grandstream SIP phone Here is my sip.conf for the phone [mlh] type=friend insecure=yes username=mlh secret=mlh host=dynamic canreinvite=no The phone as the default config on it. If I use the phone to call a Zap interface (a tdm card) the voice sounds all choppy. If I use the phone to call a x100p card, it does not dial what I dial (no DTMF) I don't know

[LLVMdev] Add a new llvm intrinsic?
Chandler pointed out another interpretation of C11/6.7.3.1, in which 'restrict' only addresses aliasing within a single thread. If that's the right interpretation, then it's a bug in LLVM that it moves noalias pointers across memory-ordering operations at all, and you still don't need a new fence, just a bug fix. 6.7.3.1 says "During each execution of B, ...".

ggplot2 - how to change location / position of wind rose axis labels?
Dear R users, First just want to say thank you to all for developing such a wonderful software and packages. I need to produce a wind rose plot. Tried with packages circular and plotrix and couldn't quite get what I want. Moved to package ggplot2 and it's going great. However stuck in how to move axis labels. I am using the wind rose from the help to learn how to do what I need (code

Setting caller-id when parking call
I have an issue where someone will park a call, and then it will ring back to them, but because the caller-id looks like a regular inbound call, they don't know how to answer the call (these are the receptionists). I've tried to make an extention that I can transfer to that will set the caller-id, and that works, but I'm having issues. For instance.... if I do a blind transfer to an

Bizarre IE 7 error - res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff.htm
Hi all, Ruby 1.8.6-p111 Rails 1.2.6 Windows XP Pro IE 7 Posting this for posterity''s sake, and to see if anyone else hit this issue. I sporadically hit a strange error in IE7 when I hit a submit button on a form within a Rails app. res://ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff.htm Further investigation revealed that, when I hit this error, it was never reaching the controller, which I thought

Controlling Cisco 7960 Ringtone from Asterisk
I'm trying to change the ring tone on my 7960 from the dialplan. I've tried the example on the wiki but it doesn't seem to work. Something like: exten => 3010,1,SetVar(ALERT_INFO=<Bellcore-dr1>) ; selects Ringer exten => 3010,2,Dial(SIP/3010,15) I'm not sure what the Bellcore-dr1 ringer is supposed to be. I've tried replacing ALERT_INFO with another ring tone
