logistic model diagnostics residuals.lrm {design}, residuals()
I am interested in a model diagnostic for logistic regression which is normally distributed (much like the residuals in linear regression with are ~ N(0,variance unknown). My understanding is that most (all?) of the residuals returned by residuals.lrm {design} either don't have a well defined distribution or are distributed as Chi-Square. Have I overlooked a residual measure or would it be

predict() without generating the model within R
Is there a predict method/syntax which I could use to generate predictions (and other output from predict() methods) if I have the model parameter estimates from a training dataset but not the data used to generate the original model (the models were generated by a collaborator using STATA and for IRB reasons I am not allowed independent access to the original data)? I have the new/testing data

Unexpected IP resolution
hi! Sorry in advance if I am not on the right mailing-list and sorry if my question is cover somewhere is doc (I didn't find anything). The result from nmblookup (same result on all platform) for a given samba server isn't what I expect. The key part of my smb.conf is: [global] netbios name = ourserver2 netbios aliases = ourserverdev ourserverlab ourserver name

Samba does not link to ldap
Samba can not link to ldap Samba can not retrieve password information for users. I have got stuck with the problem outlined below. I have already spent 2 weeks trying to find information on the www and various mailing lists, without success. I would be happy if someone has an idea what I have to fix. I do not particularly need ldap, so if anybody can tell me how to seperate Samba from ldap it

range query for terms
first, thank you, xapian! then I'd like to ask if it is possible to do a range query on terms(like the range query on values), or if it is just a wildcard(right truncation) match. the case is searching ip address bettween ?10.10.0.0? and ?10.10.255.255? the user want : 1. query "10.10.10.10" < ip < "10.10.10.12" gives "10.10.10.11" 2. query

Exclude file type
Hello all, Is it possible to exclude a file type for a specific sync? Also, we had an issue where rsync locked mail files during copying. Any way to avoid it? Both questions apply on a Windows system. Thanks!

auto_link fails to handle tilda''s (~) and markdown fails to handle acute accent (`)
Hi There, So I was just having some trouble with auto_link and markdown. Specfically auto_link was failing to handle urls with tildas in them (~) e.g. http://www.hawaii.edu/~name/index.html and markdown couldn''t handle an acute accent (`) e.g. Hawai`i It seems that acute accents (or backticks) in Markdown signify code segments, and it seems there''s an open ticket for this:

File names and e-acute char
Hi. Samba 1.9.15p8 under IRIX 6.1 (yes I know, it's old stuff ...) The susers on Windows 9x/WindowsNT just put their strange file name or directory name (like /usr/people/mesure_?t? ) on the IRIX. However, from the IRIX side, it's impossible toaccess to such files/directory. What's more, my ARkeia backup client stalls on such a name and fouled up my backup database... NB: Oops: for

Multiple Samba Instances on a Single Distribution.
Hello, I am wondering if anyone else has thought that it might be good to be able to run multiple instances of samba on a single machine ? I currently accomplish this task with VMware and multiple vm's. But it seems to me that it may be simpler if samba were able to run multiple instenses, with unique configs and smbpasswds, binding to unique aliased ethernet devices! Such that on a single

Then these jobs trying to simultaneously access sources, located at Samba server, appear problems. Then I running 2 compilation threads from single machine - there is no problems. Analyzing binary data on an absolute scale and determining conditions when risks become equal between groups
Suppose I have a binary outcome (disease/no disease and all subjects had the same period of exposure) and 2 or 3 (categorical) predictors. I can obviously build a logistic regression model which describes the data, possibly including interaction terms, on a relative scale: model<-glm(disease~sex*race*prematurity,family=binomial) 1) Is there any way to extract information on the absolute

Samba 2.2.5 under Debian 3.0 i386: Still frequent connections.tdb corruption
[CC to Debian package maintainer] Hi there, I'm still experiencing this worrysome tdb corruption even after I upgraded to 2.2.5. I built this package myself from the officially released 2.2.5 source.
