lpd hangs in Samba Print Server
Hi folks, I have a Linux with Samba 2.0.6 Samba Print server here with 10 remote HP JetDirect Printers configured in it. I use the Samba server as spooling server and use most of the printers with the "lpr -b -P%p %s" print command (for binary printing) as described in the Samba documentation. Each Printer has is configured in the smb.conf file (this gives me more flexibility to

Network printer question
Howdy Folks: This may be slightly (but not entirely) off-topic for this list, but I'm sure there are some real gurus out there who should know this (and I've seen a number of related questions) so here goes: We just got a new HP8100DN printer. The guy didn't want to let me do the samba printserver thing, nor did he put it on a windoze box - he put it directly on the network

SMB+LDAP Question ...
Greetings ... I have a quick question, which I hope will get a straight and quick answer. I am moving my system from flat files to LDAP. I have had my users in LDAP for a while, but then found that my computer accounts for Win2K in still in passwd. My question is, what are the bare minume LDAP attribs that I need for them to contiune to work? But I don't think I am going to get that

[lattice] display a projected map on a layerplot
summary: I can display a lon-lat map on a lattice::layerplot, and I can display a Lambert conformal conic (LCC) map on a spam::image, but I can't display an LCC map on a lattice::layerplot. Example follows. What am I doing wrong? details: I've been using `lattice` (via `rasterVis`) successfully to display global atmospheric data, which works well enough (though I am definitely intrigued

Samba/Cups Newbie question...
Hi, I think that this is more a Samba query than a Cups one, as far as I can tell from the documentation anyway... I am running samba-2.2.5-1 and cups-1.1.16, I have these installed and working correctly... I have 50+ PC's (mixture of WinNT, Win2k, WinXP and Win9x/ME) printing to 6 queues on the server, 5 of these are RAW queues printing via lpd and ipp, and the other is a socket

App can't load DLLs without sudo
I'm trying to get the Syncrosoft License Control Center to run under wine. for some reason it can only load MFC42.DLL and MSVCRT.DLL if I put 'sudo' on the command line: [paul@localhost LCC]$ wine LCC.exe err:module:import_dll Library MFC42.DLL (which is needed by L"C:\\Program Files\\Syncrosoft\\LCC\\LCC.exe") not found err:module:import_dll Library MSVCRT.dll (which is

Re: Win9x login script drive mapping problem - more info
Many thanks to those who have replied so far - still no luck unfortunately. It would appear that I was ni=ot quite specific enough in the original post re: the OS version I am using - it is Windows 98SE, NOT vanilla 98. As for the login script I am using, I tried originally with the NT/2K script I use for all the other machines (logical as they are all NT/2K!): #### Script starts here ####

GLM different results with the same factors
I've read something about this problem, but I don't know how can i avoid this problem. Why the order of the factors give different results? I suppose it's because the order of the factors, i've just changed "lcc" from the first position to the last in the model, and the significance change completely >

Samba printer management commands
Hi I am trying to setup remote printer management commands, so the users could add and delete printers from "Printers" share of Samba in Windows. I have this script, that is launched using an administrator account, when I add a printer from there, using a new TCP/IP port: ================================================================ #!/bin/bash {

[LLVMdev] llc with long-longs and hex floating point
In the following sequence: $llc -march=c -o diag01_c.c diag01.ll $vpolcc.ss -S -k diag01_c.c <<== **FAILS** $vpolcc.ss -o diag01 diag01_c.s I am using llc (from llvm) to convert an .ll file into a .c file. I am then running the .c file through vpolcc.ss (from zephyr) to further process it for mips architecture. The vpolcc.ss script fails at lcc (not to be confused with llc), with

LccWin32 and OGG
Hello, I'm new to OGG and I must say than it's impressive. I plan to use it in my project (BASIC programming langage) but I use LccWin32 as main C compiler (free and very powerful) and OGG has some difficulties to compile. I would like to know if it was already reported. If not, here it is: - Inline ASM functions for vorbis_itoa() isn't ok for LCC (not the same syntax than VC). I

[LLVMdev] A faster instruction selector?
Hi everyone, llvm is great! But there is one exception ;) llvm components are generally fast, but instruction selection is slooow. Let me explain. I am developing a toolkit for building virtual machines which can automatically generate a JIT compiler using the interpreter specification. llvm does the hard work of machine code generation. (Thanks to you all) I discovered that JIT compilation is

Win9x login script drive mapping problem - addendum
As an addendum to my original message (copied below), I have tried a couple of things and have found the following: Running a one line login script, eg net use * \\server\share with an echo command produces the following output: The syntax is incorrect. For help, type NET USE /? at the command prompt. Yet running the same script one the machine as soon after login as possible results in he

[newbie] how to find and combine geographic maps with particular features?
SUMMARY: Specific problem: I'm regridding biomass-burning emissions from a global/unprojected inventory to a regional projection (LCC over North America). I need to have boundaries for Canada, Mexico, and US (including US states), but also Caribbean and Atlantic nations (notably the Bahamas). I would also like to add Canadian provinces and Mexican states. How to put these together? General
