Samba SWAT 2.2.7 Doesn't Work in Redhat8.0?
Hello All Samba-list Members, I have installed a Samba 2.2.7, the samba-latest.tar.gz, as a PDC on a Redhat8.0 GNU/Linux server. ( Of course, I first uninstalled the original samba that came with the Redhat installation CDs by rpm -e samba*.) The installation was successful. Then I modified /etc/services and /etc/xinetd.d/swat as suggested in the installation document uncompressed from

Samba LDAP PDC change password
Hi all, I'm running Samba 2.2.7a on RedHat8.0 with LDAP (latest RPM from redhat) Well I configured samba to act as a PDC with LDAP following IDEALX recommandations. Everything works fine BUT the password change, I cannot change the passwords from the Win2000 or WinXP WS, it always says that the password or username doesn't match .... Of course it matches, I tried too many things to

R.spec (PR#6797)
Full_Name: Joachim Geiger Version: 1.9.0-1 OS: redhat 8.0 Submission from: (NULL) (194.94.233.87) Hello, the bug concerns the source-rpm of the 1.9.0 version on my redhat 8.0 system. The specfile requires tk-devel for compilation, but on RedHat8.0 the headers are already in the tk-rpm included. After changing tk-devel to tk, compilation runs smoothly. Best regards and thanx that U R to provide R

Adding new root suffix to 389 server
My apologies if this is off-topic... On a centos6.4 system I installed 389 server from EPEL. It seems to work well enough. However I'm trying to script things, rather than do it via the GUI. So, for example, I want to add a new suffix: #!/bin/ksh -p pswd=$(cat ~/passwd) add() { echo "dn: cn=example,cn=ldbm database,cn=plugins,cn=config changetype: add objectclass:

Plotting log-axis with the exponential base to a plot with the default logarithm base 10
Hello! I have a problem which I have tried to solve for several days now.. I have plottet a lineplot.CI in the library "sciplot", and I am trying to plot it with a logaritmic y-axis (with exponential base). The problem is that; when I type "log "y"", the axis transforms into the logaritmic of base 10. I wonder if someeone could tell me how to specify that I would

[Fwd: Re: Plotting log-axis with the exponential base to a plot with the default logarithm base 10]
Hello! Thank you for answering! What I am trying to do is to plot my raw values (biomass of different species) on a logaritmic y-axis with the base of e. When I type "log="y"", the axis transforms into a logaritmic axis with the base of 10. Best regards, Elisabeth > Dear Elisabeth, > > I'm not sure if I have understood your question -- are you trying > to

Plotting log-axis with the exponential base to a plot wi
Hello Ted! Thank you a lot for your reply!!! I will try to explain again; what I want is a logarithmic scaled y-axis with the base of e (not 10). And the values I would like to use in the plot are the raw values (not transformed in any way). Do you still think that the base of log does not matter in this case (wheather it is e or 10 as a base)? Elisabeth > On 09-May-10 18:10:27, Elisabeth

smbmount syntax for 2.0.5a
I've got a SuSE 6.2 Linux server, which now comes with Samba 2.0.5a. I'm having problems with scripts that used to run under 2.0.2. I've tried digging around on newsgroups, the manpages, and the Samba web site and can't seem to find everything I need to do to mount a share (from an NT 4.0 server). When I issue the following: smbmount //server/share -I dest ip -U user%pswd -c

Shaping traffic bound for the NAT''ed networks whithout imq
I''m trying to set up a shaper that can shape the inbound traffic to around 40 subnets, that hang on 3 different interfaces of the router. As Linux can''t do ingress shaping I''m left with having to set up 3 seperate shapers, one for each internal interface. This is not completely optimal as I''ll have to limit each of the 3 interfaces to 1/3 of the total

using smbmount for NT share
I posted a previous thread about using smbmount, but I am still having some problems, using samba version 2.0.5a on SuSE 6.2. I issue the statement: smbmount //NTServer/share /mnt/test -Iaddress -Uid%pswd Afterwards, if I go to the mount directory, i.e. 'cd /mnt' and issue the command 'ls -l' I get an error message 'ls: test: Input/output error'. After that, the mount

problem to keep X11 forwarding
Dear people, since openssh-3.8.1p1 I experience problems with the automatic X11 forwarding. I installed openssh-3.9p1 yesterday hoping the problems should disappear, but alas no. It looks like the X11 autorization times out after some time, I don't know exactly but after half an hour it surely is gone. When I installed openssh-3.8.1p1 I also had opgraded openssl from 0.9.7c to 0.9.7d then,

Breakpoints for multiple variables using Segmented
Hi all, I am using the package ?Segmented? to estimate logistic regression models with unknown breakpoints (see Muggeo 2003 Statistics in Medicine 22:3055-3071). In the documentation it suggests that it might be possible to include several variables with breakpoints in the same model: ?Z = a vector or a matrix meaning the (continuous) explanatory variable(s) having segmented relationships with
