Troubles with Farpoint Spread controls
Hi all.
The environment we are working on is a Red Hat Linux 6.2, with XFree 4.0
and KDE 2.1.
The wine has been compiled using egcs-1.1.2. Wine itself is latest
snapshot (20010731).
The application we're trying to run crashes when tries to display a
dialog box using Spread controls (from Farpoint). The crash occurs
during a WM_PAINT.
By exploring the builind of the window, the control

I've a problem with printing from an application.
My environment: a no windows installation based on Debian (testing).
I've successfully installed a printer, and I'm able to print. However,
when I print from this application, a huge (40MB) postscript file is
created.
Can anyone provide any suggestion?
Thank you all in advance

A bug in WIN_SetWindowLong ?
Hi all.
While debugging some program, I discovered what looks like a bug. Please
be patient if I'm wrong.
In the WIN_SetWindowLong function, in order to get the address of
wExtra, there is:
ptr = (LONG *)(((char *)wndPtr->wExtra) + offset);
but this takes the *CONTENT* of wndPtr->wExtra.
The correct code should be
ptr = (LONG *)(((char

Eudora 5.1 working ...
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi all
I would like to share with all the wine users my appreciation for wine
developers. I was able to install and run Eudora 5.1 without any problem.
The only problem I encountered was in the setup, where if you choose to
run the wizard instead of the advanced setup the system freezes.
I'm using wine from the last CVS on a RH Linux 6.2

wine is unable to find file.exe.so
Hi all.
First of all, a little background:
Wine release 20010418
gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)
glibc-2.1.3-21
I'm trying to use our home banking software. The software is composed from
many different .exe files. When I try to start the menu, wine complains it
is unable to load a .exe.so file (i.e., wine is trying to load some of the

Doubts about sharing a winprinter
Hi there,
I own a domestic lan with two computers, mine and my mother's one. Mine is called GREENDEMON and the other one is called BLUEDEMON and they both are configured to run on the REDLOCAL workgroup. I've Debian Woody running on GREENDEMON and Windows 98 running on BLUDEMON, with an attached Nec Silentwriter Superscript 610 printer. This printer is only compatible with Windows 9x

WND structures
hi all,
executing a certain program with wine, we get several crashes, in the
RDW_UpdateRgns function (winetop/windows/painting.c) and in a DLL of the
program itself.
the program always crashes after the creation of a subwindow, and the
problem appears to be the same, that is, somewhere before the crash the
window tree structure gets corrupted.
in order to find the exact point in which this

OT, hardware: new router and a USB winprinter
Well, the router I've had for some years now, that I had DD-WRT on, borked
itself. Went out and bought a new one, an Asus RT-AC66U. Now, I've got
this 11 yr old cute HP Laserjet... and it's a winprinter. With the version
of the DD-WRT I had, all I had to do was send the magic M$ data to it, it
would wake up, the lights on the printer telling me that it was installing
that.

time to say good-bye to win 7 / printer is the last blocker
I have picked up the HP LaserJet 1022n on eBay. It is black and white only, but works well with Linux and all versions of Windows I have available. They are generally inexpensive on eBay and the tone is cheap. I can get 4 toner cartridges for around $25 on eBay. It is small, dependable, and makes a good second printer. Most printing is usually black and white. I actually have 3 of them

My R code is not efficient
Dear R users,
I have two n*1 integer vectors, y1 and y2, where n is very very large.
I'd like to compute
elbp = 4^(y1) * 5^(y2) * sum_{i=0}^{max(y1, y2)} [{ (y1-i)! * (i)! *
(y2-i)! }^(-1)];
that is, I need to compute "elbp" for each (y1, y2) pair.
So I made R code like below, but I don't think it's efficient
Would you plz tell me how to avoid this "for"

Using a native windows DLL in wine
Hi all.
As said in the subject, we wonder whether is possible to use some
native MS dlls (comctl32.dll, commctrl.dll)
in a wine installation, for commercial purpose.
And, if possible, what kind of restrictions are supposed to be applicated?
I'm sure I'm not the first asking such a thing...
Thx

printer frustrations
I've got an old HP LaserJet 1018. It's a winprinter. After I bought a new
router (to go inside the Verison one), I plugged it directly into my box (ok,
via a hub). I run CentOS 6. Before we went on the trip, I could print, I
upgraded my system, and this is the first time I'm trying to print... and no joy.
I've tried sending the firmware to it via lp -o raw ... -h :9100, and

Can't print from applications in W2K to Samba (version 2.2.3a, Debian woody)
Dear all
I am currently setting up a Samba server and am experiencing a bit of a
problem with printing:
I have a Canon LBP-1000 connected to the Samba server via the parallel
port. Printing directly from the machine works fine. Printing to the
printer directly attached to my W2K client works fine, too. When I try
to print from the W2K client to the printer connected to the Samba
server, however,
