Samba 2.2.5 is crap.
Unstable windozes (hangs all the time) Major bugs in the printing system, mount and smbmount commands. Samba 2.2.5 is completely usable if you ask me. Crap I would say and should never been released. I consider to change to Beeweb although it cost money. BTW how do u uninstall the dirt?? using ./uninstall ??? ===== Investigating the Norwegain 4.th Secret ServiceThe multiheaded

Fwd: Re: Connecting problem:Need Help
Yes they all were sussessful except for the test I couldnt perform. I can see the linux icon in win neighborhood , but get server not accessible when I click the icon. It must have something to do with the ns lockup in the windoze. Joel Hammer <Joel@HammersHome.com> skrev: And, they all were successful? (I don't take anything for granted.) loading printers
I just configured a server to use the CUPS printing system and have all my printers shared out by Samba. I made all the necessary changes to the smb.conf file but don't want to restart samba in the middle of the day since it is a high traffic server and don't want to break connections. Is there a way to just have samba load all these printers without restarting the service????

Wine'ing Windows Terminal Server Client
I've tried multiple ways to get into terminal server via WINE, but have had no success. I've got Notes, Service Center, Internet Explorer... pretty much all running smoothly... but when I try to use Internet explorer to get into it, I get a box that is outlined where the desktop is supposed to be (on the IE screen, and an object load error in the IE Log)... I then tried to run mstsc.exe

Hi Ady, Your insightful post prompted me to to a little bit more digging as to how the Ridgecrop algorithm computed its FAT size, with the result of my investigations presented below. [PATCH 1/5] fat: fix minfatsize for large FAT32
In the following text, I am about to use terms such as "inaccurate". I don't mean to question what some code does, but rather to compare the expressions against what I think is a more accurate one, in theory. I mean no disrespect, and I am not saying that developers are doing the wrong thing. In addition, of course I could be wrong (or type in incorrectly, or some formatting

samba domeinlogon
Hi, I'm using Unix now for the last 2 years, so I'm learning everyday new things. Now I'm trying to configure Samba 2.2.5 (on Freebsd 4.4) so that w2k machines can logon to the domain. I added several users to smbpasswd (which are real users on the server. I would like to have "virtual users" which don't have a real account but that's an other problem) In several
