Win 9x printer problem
I am continuing to struggle with a strange SAMBA Printing problem. Here are the details: 1) NT based clients can log on as guests or as users and can print in either case with no problems. 2) Windows 9x clients can log in as either guest or as users and can access shares with no problems. 3) Windows 9x clients attempting to print directly to the SAMBA printer hang the print process and

strange printing problem
Hi folks, First of all I have a well-working samba-2.2.2-20011013 on a Redhat 7.1 with 2.4.7. (Fast like a thunder 8-). Good job guys!) But. I have a little problem with printing: At my work we have only NT 4.0 workstations on our LAN with sp6a or sp5. This problem is appearing when a client try to print onto a printer attached to samba. Sometimes. But sometimes not. > api_net_sam_logon:

plot to postscript orientation
Hi I am trying to save some plots in a postscript file. When I generate the plots in the main window, they appear correctly - their orientation is landscape (i.e., horizontal). However, when I open the .ps file with GSview, the whole page appears vertically, and the plot appears horizontally, which means that the plot is only partially visible (example here

Hello, I had running OpenMediaVault server with NUT 2.4.3 megatec_usb driver. After the OMV upgrade, NUT also upgraded to 2.6.4. I realised that megatec_usb removed in this version. So I have configured to use blazer_usb driver. However NUT behaves incorrectly after switching blazer_usb. System is being halted upon booted up. Is it possible to use megatec_usb driver in the new version? # NUT

CentOS on the HP MicroServer
I'm been running two HP MicroServers as home-servers under CentOS-5.6 for 2 months, and have been very happy with their performance. I'm wondering if there are many other MicroServer/CentOS users around? I've been surprised when looking at the MicroServer forums (eg <<http://www.avforums.com/forums/networking-nas/ 1431514-hp-proliant-microserver-n36l-owners-thread.html>) how

Post-Win2k3 Upgrade rsync+ssh Permissions Problem
Hi all. OK, so I have a mostly Solaris infrastructure with a group of Windows 2000 server boxes. I installed Cygwin rsync/ssh on them and have been using it to keep Web images up to date by pushing them from a central server thus: /usr/local/bin/rsync -e ssh -vrtz --delete --rsync-path=c:/cygwin/bin/rsync.exe /webnfs/webfiles/images/ winserver:d:/webfiles/images This sync runs as the UNIX user

NT MD4 password check failed
I'm sorry for asking a question which has been asked so many times before, but I can't seem to find the answer... How do I get to access my home directory on a Linux server running Samba from a Windows XP client? I'm getting "NT MD4 password check failed" in the log file even though the Windows client is listed in hosts.equiv. More information below... I have a small home

Seek some help on operating system drivers. Thanks!
Hello, I am a user of CentOS 7.6. I came here for help. I recently bought a microserver called HPE Proliant MicroServer Gen10(X3216 APU). CentOS 7.6 was installed for it. I found that the fan of the machine would keep turning and the noise was very loud. I searched everywhere but I couldn't find any way out. Pardon my ignorance showing. I don?t know where to seek help. When I use

Using a CentOS 6 Machine as a gateway/router/home server

IMHO, keeping the firewall function completely separate simplifies security. that router board can handle 300 Mbit/sec of

wine hangs on first run
I'm using a fresh install of Fedora Core 5 with the RPM install of Wine 0.9.12. When I run winecfg, it says "wine: creating configuration directory '/home/vince/.wine'..." as I expect it to. Following that is many lines of "Font metrics" progress with a few "fixme:font" messages. Nothing seems too unusual. But, when it gets to "Font metrics:

deSolve - Function daspk on DAE system - Error (Vince)
Vince, When that happens, one possible reason is that your DAE is of index > 1, which cannot be solved by daspk. The solver radau, also from deSolve can handle DAEs up to index 3, but you need to rewrite the problem in the form M*y' = f(x,y), where M is a mass matrix. If you do that for your problem, and solve it with radau, then radau complains that the "matrix is repeatedly

9x/NT/2000 clients with security=server
Hi, I have a problem authenticating users using samba-2.0.6/Solaris 7 (sparc ultra-1), using the security=server option. We want to have a single print-server for both the UNIX and Windows clients on our network. The windows machines authenticate user using an NT4-domain. I've setup samba so that it always runs as user 'lprsmb' used to print to the UNIX-printserver with a wrapper
