Need help getting colour printing features restricted to a specific group
I?ve got a Ricoh multi-function printer/copier that I need to restrict the
colour printing functions to only members of the @ColorPrinting group. I?ve
two print queues for the Ricoh, one colour, one not. Unfortunately, even
users on the B&W queue can change the colour settings on the print dialog in
Windows and bypass the restriction and prints in colour.
Part of this likely is our CUPS

Client driver installation
I've an OpenSuSE based server installed at work that uses Samba to share out the
prrinters for our users on the AD that will be replacing our aging Windows 2000
print server. I'm in the process of getting the printer drivers installed for
Windows clients. At present, I'm installing the drivers for the RICOH Aficio we
have. When I run the following command:?

printing issues - lprng
Hi,
I am running samba and lprng for 4 hp laserjets. Sometimes a
samba print job goes to the wrong printer. Normally everything works just
fine. Shown below is the lprng acct log file enries for the concerned print
job. Please notice that the print job was supposed to go to hp4050-mail,
but ended up in hp8100. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

adding printers from netlogon script
I don't know the final answer BUT if you have something simmilar to a
cyber-cafe LAN (I mean, users use all the computers, and maybe some
users come back to login with the same name) then you have to install a
printer only once in a computer, loging as the administrator and
installing drivers. Then what users will have to do is JUST add the
printer without installing. I know that it's

one printer doesn't print under samba
I have a problem I hope someone can help with.
I have TLS 6.0 set up to provide print services to Win98 clients using
samba. There are two printers, an HP LaserJet 4050 and an HP DeskJet 950C,
both attached to separate JetDirect 170 print servers. The HP4050 works
wonderfully, no problems at all. The 950C doesn't work. The printer is
available when browsing and can be installed on the

Procedure for installing Windows drivers on Samba with CUPS
Hi all,
This isn't a plea for help, but rather I have just been through the
procedure for installing Windows drivers on a Samba machine using CUPS,
and I thought I'd post my notes in case it helps someone one day as the
documentation doesn't focus too strongly on my particular set up (it
focuses on using Windows drivers without CUPS, or PostScript drivers
with CUPS, but

Too many handles on this pipe
I wonder if there is any resolution to this problem.
I'm encountering similar situation with the Nashuatec DSC338 and P7325
printers from Ricoh using RPCS drivers. After uploading those drivers
and performing basic printing preferences configuration, the print
server crashed and become inaccessible.
Here is the error from samba.log:

Printer driver interface different
Hi there, I'm having a wierd problem where the driver for one printer
displays a different UI from a samba server, compared to any other MS
machine sharing the same printer. I'm running an ubuntu box with
samba 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.4. The printer is a Ricoh Afficio 5560.
I've tried copying the driver files from a win2k3 server to my samba
box and installing the driver manually
